If you are just interested in putting sound files on your internet site then please go to Lesson 4: Putting Music on your website
Decide on the band
This should be the easy part. Who is your favourite band? Of course, there are probably hundreds of other pages about them so sometimes it is easier to think about your favourite lesser-known band and choose them. It can be a lot more satisfying knowing that you are adding something new to the Internet.
Collect and create material
The difficult part is to write something about your chosen band. Maybe give a short biography or just talk about why you like them and how they fit into your life. You can always change your page later - just get 200 words down on paper and type it up later.
You will want a photograph or two to break up the text and make the page more appealing visually. In the tradition of the Internet just steal this from another site - they will have found it somewhere and used it without the photographers permission. It may be best to find the band's official site or their record companies site and use a photo from there because they can't really complain about the photos being used for promotional purposes.
Find extra content
You need to make your first attempt look like more than just a 1 page effort. You can achieve this easily with a new website which offers music content which you can put on your own site. Just go to www.iq451.com and see if they already have the band/artist you want. If not then fill in the suggest form and check back again a week later. They offer a band page with links to CD and live reviews, websites, and tour dates. In addition there are RSS feeds for every page.
