Eddy Merckx Corsa Replica

Rachel goes CLIPLESS! (gone are her pink fuzzy slippers)
This is a late '80's Trek 560 that a very generous member of the classicrendezvous.com list gave us.  We were looking for a 49 - 50 cm frame for Rachel's first road bike, and this one fit the bill perfectly.  The top tube had damage, so the previous owner had it repaired at Paterek in Chicago.

Our buddy and co-conspirator, Chuck in Colorado painted the frame and created an artistic masterpiece.  The goal was to have a  replica of my '96 Eddy Merckx Corsa 0.1 frame for a daddy/daughter matching set.  We built it with an RX100 group with indexed 7-speed shifting.

Chuck also graciously supplied the junior racing-spec crankset with 36/46 chainrings.  It is obvious that the love and tender-heartedness that Chuck poured into this project will always stir very special thoughts every time it gets ridden.
Oh - and for the purists out there, this isn't a collector thing.  It's for a 12-year old girl who wants to ride a bike like her dad's.
