The Dante Alighieri Society is a non profit world wide organization. Though the teaching of the Italian language is the most important task, we also offer a variety of activities such as organise exhibitions of famous painters at the National Gallery of Australia as well as special performance at the theater, Italian cuisine courses, we also enjoy social events such as picnics, dinner nights, travel and many other social and cultural events!


Learning texts and multimedia material are available to members and the Society holds its activities in the Resource Center which is located at the Italo-Australian Club in Forrest. The Society lists among its many tasks the organising of Italian language classes and conversation groups as well as holding cultural activities and discussions. Other activities such as Italian cooking and tourism are on the agenda for 2000/2001.
