Savior to Freeway. When Freeway was a hand size kitten, she rode over a distance of 30 miles trapped in the spare tire well under a pick up truck. I had been the one to pull her out becoming her "hero". Freeway actually came to us at about a year old after her family could no longer handle her "misbehaving". Then a misunderstood kitten, now looks to me as her "hero" once again. |
| The dream of owning a horse I inherited from my mother. My goal to own a horse someday would come true in 1994 when I acquired Comet, a grey Walker/Arab grade mare. However, my ideal dream horse was a black and white pinto. Getting Billie wasn't planned. I just couldn't resist that beautiful spotted pattern. As a bonus, she was a Tennesee Walking Horse!! Finding a horse for my mom however, wasn't that easy. We went from Thoroughbred to Appaloosas trying to find the right horse. Having Billie, a smooth gaited horse with a wonderful temperament led us to find the perfect horse for my mom in another Tennesee Walker, Satin. Even though our two girls are more "pasture ornaments" than anything, we do hit the trails on occasion. Just having that dream come true of owning a horse is what matters the most, right? UPDATE: November 3, 2008- Billie suffered a severe choke/impaction that could not be relieved. She now runs the greener pastures with Comet. |
