Tornado Resource. Weather Watch. Teacher Resource center.

Twisters are dangerous storms that cause destruction when they come down to the ground. The winds in a twister can be as high as 200 miles per hour - which is about three times as fast as a car on the freeway! The winds can be so strong they blow houses apart. Getting underground is the best thing to do in a tornados.
