Instead, all I can offer is my personal take on how I think he's doing in the BB house. I've never seen someone play a realityTV game show as skillfully as he is currently playing. For that sake alone, I decided to be a part of the "Internet People" and create this web site (I mean, why not?)

Since the dawn of Reality TV in 2000, I've watched shows like Survivor, The Mole and Big Brother with fascination and guilty pleasure.

JULY 31, 2002:
Creation of this page. So far, Roddy is HOH and it looks like everyone in the house and across America is in love with him. Even if the other House Guests wanted to, I don't think they couldn't bear to nominate, let alone, evict him. He is brilliantly playing each and every player. I suspect that his interest with Chiara is hollow and kept up for strategy. I think at first, he truly liked her but as he got to know her, he realized that she is not his type after all. However, why break up and create an enemy? Looks like Roddy is already resenting Chiara for holding him back from being free in the house. He has to watch his step or risk upsetting her. Is this the beginning of a healthy relationship? Don't think so. However, he is being so very patient ...patiently waiting for her to be nominated!

Last night's show featured a lot on Roddy and Chiara. Jason said that Chi is Roddy's weakness and he plans to exploit that weakness. To me, Roddy seems way too smart to enter into this very contrived situation and then allow a quasi-romance to get in the way, clouding his judgement. At least I hope so. I want Roddy to win the $ not necessarily the girl...fall in love another time, this isn't the dating game and he'll never have another opportunity to win $500Gs again. I wish them the best (yeah, right) but even normal marriages only have a 50% success rate...celebrity marriages, even 15 minute celebrities, non-existent.

AUGUST 2, 2002:
Roddy is the Alpha-male in the house. The deal he made with Gerry was well-timed and now will guarantee him another safe week. The way he kissed up to Gerry after the HOH game was unnecessary but very funny. Marcellas said it best: Roddy knows exactly which button to push for each houseguest. Marc knows this yet allows Roddy to work him, he loves being worked by the guy...as do the others. Roddy has all the qualities of a winner/leader, he commands respect and they glady give it to him. I doubt he will be evicted any time soon.

The environment of the house (being the pressure-cooker that it is) must really be affecting Roddy. I don't see how a person so cerebral could make SO many misjudgements about others. Roddy dismisses Jason as a naieve virgin who isn't really playing the game (or doesn't know how to). Roddy views Marcellas as a sissy who is easily defeatable and thought Amy was "selfish"! So FAR from the truth. Jason and Marc are major contenders for the prize. Seems like they want to win more than Roddy does. Marc shocked Roddy when he was actually able to down the chicken livers (a huge clue to how determined he is). Jason may be pure but he ain't dumb...I think he's playing better than anybody right now. And Amy had class, unlike Roddy's drunk drivin', foul mouthed in-house girlfriend (but he's obviously got a romantic weakness for lousy women considering how many times he says he's been hurt).

I'm getting the distinct impression that Roddy is losing interest in the game. He needs a Time magazine like nobody's business. He's successfully cultivated a puppet in Chiara but at a great expense. America's anti-Sweetheart is high maintainance and super controlling and for such a big investment of Roddy's time and energy, she ain't too trustworthy either. However, Danielle's strategy is similar; recruit one person in the house and only work with them. Yet her plan with Jason is IN SECRET...big difference. Roddy better watch out!

Roddy really needs his Time mag now...he's got nothing to do for a week now that Chiara is HOH. He feels so safe in the house. It's a vulnerable situation for Roddy who is emerging as some kind of character, Shakespearian (nod to Gerry), if you will. He's a man who doesn't truly love the woman he's tied down to and is withering away with boredom because he thinks he's got it all wrapped up. Ironically, however, he is completely blind to the formidable conspiracy brewing in the shadows among the proverbial 'wolves in sheep's clothing'. Sounds like a Tragedy to me.

No matter the reasoning, everybody knows it's NEVER a good thing to be nominated. Roddy has been completely betrayed by Chiara's bombshell. I think he was personally very hurt by it. He likes to believe in people and so far had assumed that Chiara was actually a human being. I was disappointed that Roddy didn't fight harder when Chiara cooly informed him of her intentions of nominating him. But even through the muddy veil of this silly game show, I think we got true glimpses into their real personalities. Roddy has never resorted to the techniques of the cheap car salesman in this game. He won't resort to them to save his ass either. He's dealing with a cold-blooded sociopath, of course his calm and clever psychological argument didn't work. Telling Chiara that "Lisa would never vote out Eric," and "I would never do this to you," was like reasoning with Jaws. He got seriously kicked in the stomach. I think Roddy's gone. He has too much heart for this game anyway.

Many Big Brother 3 observers have pegged Roddy as a savvy manipulator; a guy who uses his charm and attractiveness to screw people. I thought so too. But as wild as this next statement is, I feel like I know Roddy more and that's not him at all. Yeah, it's a TV show but nobody except an under-cover cop can keep up a facade for over a month without letting their true personality crack out a little bit. Roddy is a very sweet guy, a very balanced person. He's as in touch with his inner emotions as he is with his masculinity. Watching him comfort Josh was touching. I haven't seen any of the other HGs have more emotional moments than Roddy has, and he isn't afraid to have them either! Unfortunately, I think people like Roddy are vulnerable. Vulnerable to having their natures slowly hardened by life-sucking people like Chiara. Being open, patient and exposing your heart to a negative personality type like her is dangerous. Roddy's got a string of heartbreak because of it. The real irony is that he doesn't see the pattern and that's where his ruin lies.

Like I said before, the HGs can't bear to see Roddy go, even if it IS against their better judgement...there is something about this guy! Incredible comeback, wow! Surviving the chopping block with zero votes is the beginning of Roddy's second wind. He's going to play very hard now. I can't wait to watch!

Roddy isn't a manipulator. He's just a supremely charming person and people gifted with such charm are rare. When all you have to do is be yourself, you don't need to manipulate. You don't need to try too hard. You just need to show up and smile. Roddy is a "devil" as Dani puts it because his charm is genuine and it's powerful. Charming men always win. People want them to.

Squeezed by again! What are the other HGs thinking?? Roddy is outplaying all of them and they KNOW it but they keep him in there. Incredible. Funniest BB3 moment; Roddy giving Chiara a book as a gift! How truly wrong these two are for each other...at least they're finally realizing it (they just had to get past that physical attraction first). I think we'll see a more relaxed Roddy this coming week. Even though he'll probably be put back on the chopping block, he's free from that albatross. Watch him wrap Amy around his finger next.

Roddy does everything with such ease and it's really driving the other HGs crazy. I think it's typical of human nature to admire a person who is successful, good looking and good hearted. A person with seemingly no flaws. But that admiration can quickly turn into resentment. People generally don't think it's "fair" that one person should be blessed with all that. The other HGs call Roddy the devil and wonder how he manages to survive every week but that's because their admiration of him has turned into resentment...and jealousy. They have to work so hard to ensure their survival in that house while he doesn't seem to have to. His efforts are invisible to them and he always appears relaxed. This is the drawback in life for naturally gifted people...it's hard for them to find loyalty in others. Roddy doesn't always have it made because he has to constantly battle against that underlying resentment in people who are jealous of what he's got goin' on.

Roddy's knome needs to start hitting on old Boo right away. Roddy knows Marcellas's weakness and must play it for all it's worth. It's funny because even though Marc distrusts Roddy and maybe resents him a bit, he is wet spaghetti when Roddy turns on his charm. I predict that Roddy will convince Marc to nominate Dani and Jason. Go Roddy!

Marcellas was really cruel to a person he calls his friend. Amy may have problems but she didn't deserve to be humiliated like that in front of everybody (and a national TV audience) just because she got under his fussy skin. Everybody sympathizes with her which could be bad for Roddy who is also nominated. Roddy needs to work on Amy...turn the house's sympathy around into annoyance. He needs to simply talk to her and say how uncalled for Marcellas's speech was...that will get her going and she'll self-destruct. The house will agree with Marcellas and she'll be outta there.
