Sunday afternoon, March 8th the Burlington Town Hall will become a cozy corner when noted quilt historian, Sue Reich presents "Quilts and Quiltmakers Covering Connecticut". Her talk begins at 2:00. Everyone attending is encouraged to bring one old quilt for display and discussion at the end of the lecture. Sue will offer her expertise regarding the quilt, such as age and origin. This is not an appraisal, but rather informational. Ms. Reich has been the head of the Connecticut Quilt Search Project for the past 10 years. She is the co-author for "Quilts and Quiltmakers Covering Connecticut," the documentation book of Connecticut quilts. In 2007, she compiled two books "Quilting News of Yesteryear: 1,000 Pieces and Counting" and "Quilting News of Yesteryear: Crazy as a Bed-quilt" She lectures widely on World War II quilts, Connecticut quilts, Crazy quilts, mulititudinous pieced quilts and floral quilts. Tickets for the event are $12 and will be available at the door. For more information, contact Dyrinda at 860-404-0152. |
