AGM and Zone Election The AGM and election was held on Wednesday, April 8 (7:00pm) at Mount Sima. The consistent message that came out was that this was one of the best all-around years for the patrol. It was a great team effort this year.
Budget: (very quick summary) - This year, we had a very interactive budget discussion, with consensus gained on a variety of budget items - Yukon Zone had a budget surplus this past year. - Revenues for the coming year are expected to decrease, due to the plan to do less non-skiing events - Expenditures are expected to be higher, with a budget for the first aid competition - We will budget for incentives for patrollers to come our more often - ideas are welcome from patrollers - We are sponsoring the National Annual Conference for the Awards Banquet - As such, we approved a budget with a deficit for the coming year. - Lotteries applications were also discussed under the budget discussion.
Non-skiing Events: - We agreed not to do the bike relay this year - We also agreed not to count on the Atlin Music Festival, although we will do it if we can get commitment from several patrollers. Dates of the events are: Whitehorse Triathlon - June 7 Atlin Music Festival - July 10-12 Yukon River Trail Marathon - August 2 Trail of 98 Road Relay - September 11-12 Patrollers interested in volunteering, please email Tim
Miscellaneous: - We will be purchasing buffs for sale to patrollers and others - Patrollers are welcome to submit ideas for patroller incentives (eg. hot waxes - skis, not legs :)) - A social at Takhini Hotsprings was suggested, where we could practice our munter hitches and rappelling on the climbing wall
Election: - Tim Sellars was acclaimed as Zone President once again. - Over the next while, we will be re-forming the executive to fill in any holes, so if you are interested in a leadership opportunity, please let me know.
