My mother taught me how to crochet when I was about 7 years old. I am now 35 years old and I have made a lot of afghans since then! Thanks MOM!
I became interested in making afghans specifically for donation. I went online and found many wonderful charities to crochet for, but only one or two specifically for Senior Citizens. I decided to use my hobby and talent of blanket crocheting to start the CROCHET4SENIORCITIZENS project. I am crocheting lapghans (afghans for wheelchair-bound Senior Citizens), afghans and shawls. I donate them directly to retirement homes.
This project is 100% for Senior Citizens. I am doing this because I love to crochet and people love warm afghans! Since Sept. 2001, I have created more than 60 afghans and lapghans!!
