What is a DTS? The DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING SCHOOL (DTS) is a prerequisite
to becoming staff anywhere in YWAM.
The purpose of the DTS is:
To equip people to grow in relationship with God, providing a solid
Biblical foundation and encouraging the development of Christ-like
character through personal application of truth.
- To challenge you to become involved in missions and world
evangelism, with YWAM or other ministries, awakening a burden for
reaching the unreached, a vision for influencing all areas of society,
and a commitment to strengthening the global Body of Christ.
- To prepare you for service in the local church and the local
community.
Discipleship Training School Course Descriptions:
The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is an intensive Christian
training course beginning with an 11 or 12 week lecture/teaching phase
followed by a typically 8-12 week practical field assignment. The DTS is
designed to encourage students in personal character development,
cultivating a living relationship with God and identifying their unique
individual gifts and callings in God. Cross-cultural exposure and global
awareness are special emphases throughout the course, preparing the
students to reach current and future generations and answer the call to
"Go into all the world and disciple all nations" Matthew 28:19.
Topics can include:
- Hearing the Voice of God
- Identity in Christ
- Holy Spirit and Spiritual Gifts
- The Nature and Character of God
- Evangelism
