well you know we all want to change the world!
Critical mass is a montly bicycle ride to celebrate cycling and to assert cyclist's rights to the road.Although we refer to cyclists we include any form of transport that requires only the user's energy to work e.g. skateboards, rollerblades, unicycles etc.
WE believe that cycling in Christchurch is quite a hazard especially in the city central streets.
Studies show that in countries where there are more cyclists there are less traffic accidents overall.
Our aim is to build up that awareness of other road users by joining together and being seen as TRAFFIC.
WE also want to promote eco-friendly transportation. Christchurhc city is flat as some of you may have noticed and a perfect place to get around via your own steam. Good for those heart and lungs too!
Meeting times are the last Friday of every month at the Bridge of Remembrance. We meet at 5:15 and start moving at 5:30pm.
