The 2004 Results are now online. Check out the results page for more information. Welcome to Central New Zealand’s premier multisport event. Based around the icon outdoor elements of Wellington's Hutt City, you're about to embark on a 66km scenic tour over the hills, beaches, harbour and river that make the Hutt Valley the outdoor wonderland that it is. Established in 1990, the Kathmandu Crazyman is one of New Zealand’s longest running multisport events and has attracted as many as 480 participants. Participants enter as individuals or teams in either the full multisport format (run/mountainbike/kayak) or as duathletes (run/mountainbike). As a feature event on the national calendar past winners have included Coast to Coast legends Steve Gurney and Hutt City’s own Jill Westenra, not to mention other world ranked athletes such as Neil Gellatly and Kristina Strode-Penny. Along with a $15,000 prize pool that includes $3000 cash, the Crazyman’s reputation as one of NZ’s top five races means it is also part of the prestigious Sportzhub.com NZ Multisport Series. But first and foremost “The Crazyman” is a community event embracing all ages, abilities and backgrounds - some of them experienced endurance athletes, some of them relative rookies looking for a new challenge. In short, you'd be "crazy" not to contemplate the Kathmandu Crazyman - It’s a “Hell” of an event! Mountainbike Duathlon Series Need some practice races before you hit the big one? The Hutt Multisport Club is organising a Mountainbike Duathlon Series. Click here to download an entry form (PDF format). |
