The Earth Charter is an authoritative synthesis of values, spirituality, principles,
and aspirations that are widely shared by growing numbers of men and women in
all regions of the world. The principles of the Earth Charter reflect extensive
international consultations conducted over a period of many years. These principles
are also based upon contemporary science, international law, and the insights
of philosophy and religion. Successive drafts of the Earth Charter were circulated
around the world for comment and debate by nongovernmental organizations, community
groups, professional societies, and international experts in many fields.
The Earth Charter Initiative encourages the use of the Earth Charter in education,
business and civil society. The Earth Charter grew out of the 1992 Rio conference.

The Earth Charter USA Campaign is made up of people from all walks of life who
embrace the environmental and spiritual values in the Earth Charter and who
seek to make these values a blueprint for a sustainable way of life in this
country. The Campaign relies on this network of Earth Charter Facilitators to

I thought I'd find some faith-based Americorps program focusing on the environment, but no! The faith-based programs I know might have a few scattered positions in environmental organizations, but predominantly they were with issues of poverty. But perhaps you can add your knowledge to this list?
