BIOGRAPHY

Perry Saturn born Perry Satullo was born in 1967 in Cleveland OH, son of Angie and a nameless, faceless father. His father took off before Perry was born. Perry doesn’t even know his name. His mother remarried to an abusive man who took pleasure in abusing his stepson physically and emotionally. From the ages of 13 to 17 Saturn lived mostly in detention homes. There he escape the abuse of his stepfather. "My stepfather was a real jerk; he would constantly abuse me," says saturn. When I was 5 years old, I saw wrestling for the first time and that’s when I said, I bet no one hits those guys. That’s when I first wanted to be a pro wrestler. By the time I was 7 or 8, I probably had more ass whippings than most have their whole life." At age 17 he joined the Airborne Ranger unit in the Army. He performed his basic training in Alabama and his Ranger School in Fort Benning, California. To date, he has executed 107 jumps. "The army helped me for wrestling with discipline," says Saturn. After leaving the Army Saturn worked several manual labor jobs. He also went through a divorce with his first wife, with whom he has a 10 year old son with, Perry Jr. Years later Satullo moved to Boston MA where he met and married his second wife Frances, who he credits for helping him get where he is today. They now reside in Long Island, New York.

In 1988, Saturn saw an ad in Pro wrestling Illustrated about wresting job opportunities. Saturn wrote to the publication to learn of a training facility and was told about Killer Kowalski’s school. Saturn at the time was only about 165lbs. Kowalski said Saturn was too small to compete. Saturn though was very persistent. Kowalski eventually agreed to train him. He was the first small guy ever trained by Kowalski.

On October 27, 1990 in Waltham Ma Perry made his wrestling debut in the United States wrestling Federation. Saturn wrestled in other independent wrestling organizations like the International Wrestling Federation as "Iron Horseman." Dressed in a black leather cowboy hat, matching vest and chaps he became the IWF light heavyweight champ.

While managing a rock-and-roll club in Boston he met former Eliminators partner John Kronus who at the time was a bouncer for the club. "John would watch wrestling on TV at the club, and when I'd wrestle on one of "Killer" Kowalski's shows, I would bring in the videotape, and we would watch it. Kronus was interested in becoming a wrestler, so I sent him to Kowalski's pro wrestling school." explained saturn, "Something clicked between us, and I later asked John to be my tag-team partner."

The two, known as the Eliminators went on to wrestle in the USWA where the captured the USWA Tag Titles. Later they joined ECW were they captured the ECW Tag Team titles three times. But on May 31st, 1997 in Trenton, New Jersey Perry suffered a career threatening injury to his left knee. While executing a front kick he landed on a crutch that had been thrown into the ring. He suffered a torn anterior crucial and meniscus ligaments, cracked knee and a broken tibia. The reconstructive surgery lasted four and a half hours. The doctor had to graft a new ACL using one third of perrys patella tendon. The knee would take nine months to a year to heal. "This injury put a tremendous emotional strain on me. The hardest part was not being able to wrestle, but it also made it much more difficult to do the daily things we all take for granted like answering the door or phone, and no matter how much medicine I took, the pain was always there." says saturn of his injured knee. But saturn with the help of his wife, who returned to his side after an eighteen month separation ignored the pain and work to rehabilitate his knee. After 8 weeks, the knee had healed enough for Perry to begin weight training to strengthen the knee muscles and rebuild tendons. After only 12 weeks the knee was healed nearly 100 percent. By the end of August he was ready to return to the ring.

As Perry recovered, his career took a downturn. The Eliminators had lost the tag titles, and Kronus had gone on with his wrestling career without saturn. The two had grown apart and decided to call it the quits.

Towards the end of August rumors began through out ECW that a "mole" in the company was trying lure ECW wrestlers over to WCW. Perry learned through friends in the company that Paul Heyman had suspected it was him. Later Paul learned that the "mole" was ECW founder Tod Gordon not Saturn. Saturn’s ECW days were over.

On August 28, Saturn got a hold of Terry Taylor at World Championship Wrestling. The two talked on the phone briefly and later that same day Terry would call Saturn and offer him a job. Shortly after they met in Atlanta and Saturn signed a one year deal with the WCW. Saturn said next to his reconciliation with his wife this was the best thing to happen to him in ages.

On September 8th he wrestled and beat Billy Kidman in a Nitro dark match. Saturn wore a brace on his knee and had 90 percent mobility. Neither Saturn or Kidman were yet Flock members.

Later in the year he joined another former ECW star named Raven and became a member of Ravens group called The Flock. Saturn was known as the "Enforcer" of the Flock and most successful member of the Flock. The first man in the Flock to hold a title.

On November 3, 1997 he beat the Disco Inferno for the WCW TV title using his devastating submission hold called "Rings of saturn". But the following month he lost the belt back to the Disco Inferno.

Today Saturn is on his own . He parted ways with Raven and the Flock. He claimed he was never a part of the Flock but was Raven’s friend. Raven had become too self absorbed. It was time for Saturn to take his career into his own hands. Once Saturn went his own way the crowd began to cheer for him and things pick up for Saturn’s career. This cause Raven to becomes jealous of Saturn’s success and a very heated and dragged out rivalry evolved between the two. During this feud Saturn tried to convince the remaining Flock members to take charge of their own lives and careers and to leave Raven. They could not get the courage to do so. On September 12, 1998 at Fall Brawl Saturn fought to free the Flock members from Raven. He was successful. Saturn’s career today is definitely going stronger then ever. If their was ever a wrestler who deserved a championship belt, it would have to be Saturn. He is one, if not the hardest working man in the wrestling business today.
