Uncle sam's dog in its location

Lilian Vernon and Colleen Corradi

This sculpture is the work of Colleen Corradi
Sponsored by Lilian Vernon Corporation

Promoted by the American Kennel Club, DogNY is a public art initiative whose goal is to raise financial resources for professional and volunteer Canine Search and Rescue organizations throughout The United States of America.

Beginning in August of 2002, New York City will be the host of a public exhibition of individually painted Search and Rescue Dog sculptures honoring the search dogs who worked tirelessly recovering victims from the events of September 11.

Each sculpture will be sponsored by a patron and painted by an independent artist. Sculptures will be displayed throughout the streets of Manhattan for an approximate period of three months. Following the exhibition, DOGNY sculptures will be auctioned off at Sotheby’s in further support of American Search and Rescue Dog organizations.
