The Coeymans Fire Company #1 proudly serves the residents of the Coeymans Fire District. Our history dates back to 1889 when the Coeymans Fire Department was known as the Rough and Ready Engine Company. We have progressed from the days of hand-drawn fire apparatus to our current level, which includes over 50 volunteer professionals, 2 modern engine-tanker fire apparatus, an under water search and rescue team and 2 fire-rescue boats.
We are also proud of the social side of our organization.When our members get together it is like a family gathering. We enjoy working together at fund raising events, sharing fellowship at holiday parties, renewing our dedication at our annual installations of officers banquet and marching in our traditional red and white uniforms at parades.
