Don't be taken-in by the so-called "Flat Tax." It still taxes Income and retains the IRS. IOW, it's what we have today, but has been "prettied-up" to get you to think that it's something new. If the so-called "Flat(Income)Tax" is the tax reform that is adopted, it will only be a matter of time until we are right back in the mess we're in today! Remember, the FairTax (S/HR 25) is the only tax reform offered that is "revenue neutral"... a requirement of Congress before it will consider a tax reform plan.
