Worsted Weigh Yarn: 3 oz Brown, small amts of red, blue, green & black F hook tapestry needle

BASIC CIRCLE

Rnd l: with white ch 4, 11 dc in fourth ch from hook; join with sl st to top of beginning ch (12 dc)

Rnds 2 - 3: Ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), dc in same joining space, 2 dc in each dc to end of rnd; join with sl st to first dc (now and throughout) (rnd 1 24 dc)(rnd 2 48 dc)

Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same joining space, dc in next 3 dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc* repeat ** around; join (60 dc)

Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in same joining space, dc in next 4 dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 4 dc* repeat ** around; join (72 dc)

Rnd 6: Ch 3, dc in same joining space, dc in next 5 dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 5 dc* repeat ** around; join (84 dc)

Rnd 7: Ch 3, dc in same joining space, dc in next 6 dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 6 dc* repeat ** around; join (96 dc)

Rnd 8: Ch 3, dc in same joining space, dc in next 7 dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 7 dc* repeat ** around; join (108 dc)

FINISHING

CAT   Using photo as guide for placement, work lazy daisy and chain stitch for detail with red for mouth, green for eyes, black for whiskers

MOUSE   Using photo as guide for placement, work lazy daisy and chain stitch for detail with, blue for eye

JOINING

CAT   Fold circle in half with wrong sides together. Working through both loops of both halves, join Black in first dc at fold; ch 1, sc in 54 dc across, ch 10 (hanger) , sc in 54 dc to end, join with sl st to last sc. fasten off

MOUSE   chain 10 and then begin joining. tack down the tail by sewing in the yarn tail of the beginning chain 10 to the body (see photo)

ADDING EARS:

CAT   row l Join with sl st post of 16th (40th for second ear) dc of rnd 8, ch 3, 9 dc across (10 dc) ch 1, turn row 2 sc in same ch 1 sp,* dec next 2 st*, repeat ** to end (5 sc) ch 1, turn row 3 sc in same ch 1 sp,* dc dec next 2 st*, repeat ** to end (3 dc) ch 1, turn, row 4 sc in same ch 1 sp, dc dec next 2 st, ch 1, (1 sc) ch l, turn, sc in last sc space sl st evenly down side of ear to end and fasten off.

MOUSE   row 1 Join with sl st to post of 10th dc of rnd 3, work around same post 1 sc, 1 dc, 3 trc, 1 dc, 1 sc, 1 sl st, turn row 2 sc in all st across, sl st to first sl st of row l, fasten off.  Weave in all yarn ends.
