I was 21 years old when my mother died. This put me in the situation of
asking myself what is the purpose of life. Many questions invaded my mind
and my soul: if we all die one day, what is the purpose of building a family,
a life, of spending money making life more comfortable, getting married,
having children? When we die, we take nothing with us. And what is God?
Is He a very old man, with a long bear, as I was told in childhood? If
He is love and forgiveness, why do so many people suffer? Is this a world
ruled by God?
