This site is about local history in GREAT RISSINGTON, Gloucestershire, including some surrounding Parishes. I am open to suggestions, additions and amendments for the site, so please feel free to send in your comments.
This is my own interpretation of events and I will up-date the site as I do further research. I have, where sources allow and records exist, tried to show a bit about each man's service in WW1. Read about how the Great Rissington soldiers joined up and which actions they were involved including extracts from the War Diaries.
A transcript of the 1901 census for Great Rissington. Take a look and see what your ancestors were doing in 1901, and find out about their families and neighbours. Many descendants still live in the surrounding Parishes today. I also have transcripts for 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881 and 1891. If you would like look ups, email me.
MY FAMILY HISTORY
I have been tracing my family tree for twenty years and I have collected a lot of data. On this page I hope to be able to share it with you or exchange ideas and information. Have look at my strays page; one of your missing ancestors could be there. I am open to suggestions to improve this site and I hope to amend it and add to it on a regular basis. Names include, BERRY, MACE, HOVARD, LEGGE, DOSSETT, AKERMAN, HOLLOWAY, BIDDLE.
