Mr. Punch

Welcome to The Royal Jamison Punch & Judy Theatre Home Page.  Put a little "Punch" in your historic event or program by a having a traditional Punch and Judy puppet show.  My name is professor Jamison and my assistant is Willie.  We have been performing Punch and Judy traditional theatre for more than six years at historic events, programs, and schools in the Great Lakes area. Some of the programs that we have participated in are: nbsp; The Lenawee County Heritage Festival, The Holly Dicken's Festival, Hasting's Civil War Days, and Victorian Festivals to name a few.

Let the age old antics of Mr. Punch and cast come to life through copies of original scripts and old dialog modeled after the "Punch Professors" of 18th and 19th century England.

According to Christopher Van der Craats, the background music is apparently of French origin and it sounds like an early version "For He's A Jolly Good Fellow."  The anglicized version of the title is "Malbrook."  All references to it come from the Punch and Judy script recorded by John Payne Collier.

"Mr Punch is one jolly good fellow. His dress is all scarlet and yellow.  And if now and then he gets mellow, it's only among his good friends. His money he most freely spends. To laugh and grow fat he intends."etc.
This information was obtained off an Internet page which I list as the "Punch Page."
