 CURRENT NEWS!THIS COMING SATURDAY is our OPENING DAY PICNIC! NO ONE toting a Shovel will be permitted! ... just Flying Things! (I have to say it that way for our helicopter pilots) I hope you all are not burnt out from the work. Please come and enjoy the day. Bring a covered dish to pitch-in for lunch. We will finish-off the hamburgers and hotdogs. We will eat around 1:00. Hope to see you there! Mike The monthly meeting is Tuesday, May 6th at the flying field at 8:00pm. The 2008 MOWING SCHEDULE is assembled. Mowing begins this weekend. Because of the flood damage we do not want to mow this weekend so that crew is being rotated to the end of the schedule as discussed at the April meeting. The gate locks have been replaced and a new combination for the Spring will be announced shortly. In the meantime the current combination remains in effect. Please contact an officer for the current combination if you have forgotten it. ***NOTE*** The equipment trailer still uses a key. A key is now stored on site along with the equipment keys keys. SAFETY NOTES: Per the October membership meeting, we wish to reestablish the mandatory use of the Transmitter Impound table for ALL transmitters when they are not being used. This specifically includes Spectrum and other 2.4Ghz units. It is imparative for everyone's safety that anyone with a transmitter not on the table to have the appropriate frequency pin. It's also simple courtesy so other members don't have to hunt down each member with a transmitter in his pit to see what he is using. Please be considerate of others, do not hog a pin and return your transmitter to the impound as soon as practical after a flight. A friendly reminder that engines are not to be started in the pit area! Aircraft need to be moved out to the edge of the pit area nearest the intended use taxiway for starting. The arc of the propeller must never be pointed towards anyone! After landing, DO NOT taxi into the pits, engines must be shut down before turning towards the pits. A final friendly reminder regarding trash. While you will find several garbage cans on site, please take home anything you brought with you. We do not have trash removal service. |

Here are a couple shots from a December day with Marty Hammersmith and Jeff Maurer. Marty brought out his Hangar 9 Tango with a Saito .56 engine and Jeff is bolting the struts on his trusty Great Planes 1/5th scale Cub with a Saito 90 two cylinder engine. Both planes are on Du-Bro aluminum skis.
