CHILTERN BRIDGE LEAGUE
This Berks, Bucks and South Oxon district league provides competition for teams of four and eight drawn mainly from local Bridge Clubs. Travelling is kept to modest levels. The standard of competition is comparable to the lower levels of the County teams competitions.  The Elimination Pairs is a quali-final event with heats organised by participating clubs. All events are open to non-members of the EBU.

The League is affiliated to the EBU.

                        TEAMS OF EIGHT

Teams selected by the clubs play matches of 20 or 24 boards at venues arranged by the clubs. With a single division each club plays the other clubs in the league once.

                        TEAMS OF FOUR

The teams of four are entered under the Captain's name. The matches normally take place in the homes of members. Each team plays home and away against the other teams  in their division.

                            SPRING CUP

This competition for teams of four is arranged with a knock-out competition for the qualifiers from the round-robin stage. This competition is an opportunity to sample the league's team events.

                        SUMMER TEAMS

A mid-summer  evening for teams of four. The trophies for the year are presented at this event.

                      ELIMINATION PAIRS

Heats held in  clubs within the geographic boundary _ less than 17 miles from Reading and preferably  N of
the M4.
