We have seen that there is a growing issue of cyber safety in children and teens. There are numerous shows and sites telling you of the issue. Online predators and Cyber Bullying are some of the bigger issues.
Predators' using the Internet is the newest way for children to be put in to a risk position. Many pose as a young person interested in meetin someone. Little do the victims know until it is to late. Only 25% of children that have had solicitation told their parents. (Online Victimization, NCMEC, June 2000)
Cyber bullying is much like bullying to a persoms face, although they use emails, websites and IM to send the hate messages. This is becoming the new way to hurt people emotionally. Many teens have had some type of cyber bullying but ignore it, thinking the person was just having a bad day.
