Apex of Siam the Golden Triangle Chiang saen :

	.. Chiang Khong and Mae Sai are gateways to Myanmar and Laos. One of the best known tourist attraction in the world, the Golden Triangle, is in Chiang Saen where the Mekong River enters Thailand.
The Golden Triangle Apex (Sop Ruak) ...Ban Fin Museum Buck Pier Thai-Myanmar Market at Mae Sai Wat Phra That Doi Wao The Golden Triangle Apex (Sop Ruak) This is the cross-roads of the three-land borders. Phra That Doi Tung (Doi Tung Shrine) :

	..This Phra That is the first shrine in Lanna built by King Uchuttarat of Yonok-Nakkhaphan in 911 in order to contain Fuddha's left shoulder bone relies. In the reign of King Mang Rai, 50 more fragments were donated. Mang Rai, therefore, had another chedi built alongside the old one to house them.
Doi Tung Shrine is a popular place of worship for both the Thai and Tai Yai from neighbouring Myanmar and Laos from Luang Prabang and Vientiane. During the Doi Tung devotional festival, the whole area is crowded with visitors and worshippers. Driving up to the shrine will then become inconvenient and rather dangerous. People - Hill Tribes :

..Several ethic minorities constitute the demographic composition of Chiang Rai, These period came to settle down in this region over hundred years ago after several decades of the city's depopulation. The first groups to come were Tai Yai, Tai Lue, Tai Khoen, and Tai Yuan (or Khon Muang).

In 20th century, several tribal peoples from China scattered themselves along the mountain ranges of Chiang Rai. The last group to come was Chinese refugees, members of the Chinese 93rd infantry of Kuomintang.

Local Couisine :

	..The ethnic combination results in colorful traditions and ways of live. It is also reflected in Chiang Rai?s local specialties. Here we can find northern Thai dishes, Yunnan Chinese dished and tasty fish from the Mekong River.
The northern-styled dished found in Chiang Rai are commonly found in other Northern provinced, namely fermented-pork (naem), pork crachlings (Kheap Mu) , northern-styled sausages (Sai -Oua) and chili pastes-either nam-prig num or nam-prig ong, served with warm fragrant sticky rice.
