Why do parrots pick?
No one knows for sure. It could be one or several reasons with something as simple as dry skin or more complex such as a behavior problem, but usually it is a combination of several things.
I have found that it helps to to discuss with someone who knows and cares about the emotional "roller coaster" associated with this malady. For this reason I have formed a Yahoo Club called "Pickin' Parrots."
During my research for "cures" and "remedies" for my own Hahn's Macaw, Kiwi , I have compiled numerous sites on various aspects of feather/picking mutilation. I would like to share these sites with you in "Pickin' Parrots".
