Chengjiang Li is the 2001 Four Continents Champion and is a 3-time Chinese National Champion. He burst onto the scene at the 1998 NHK Trophy, landing a quadruple toe/triple toe combination in the Free Skate and capturing the bronze medal. Later that season he won the silver medal at the 1999 Four Continents Championships, entertaining the audience with his "Riverdance" routine. He is best known for his quadruple jumps. At the 2000 NHK Trophy he landed a quadruple toe loop and quadruple salchow in the free skate for the first time in his career.
