The Building Estimator has been developed primarily for the DIY'er or small jobbing builder. It's main function is to calculate the most commonly used  materials that are needed to complete certain tasks in or around the home. As you can see from the first screenshot, it quantifies a range of materials. All it requires is for the user to input a m2 or m3 value . How many times have you heard someone say "Oh let's get 500 bricks, that should do it!" or "I think 10 bags of plaster should do it." Well now you can quantify and not over buy materials. The Estimator also lets you save quantified items to a 'list' and also lets you file them under job names and also has a handy conversion function which lets you convert a variety of metric and imperial units.
In essence, the Estimator can be used once and save you money straight away by avoiding over buying of materials.
If it saves you buying 50 bricks or 4 bags of cement or 3 bags of plaster or two rolls of wallpaper, you've saved in excess of a tenner already. Well worth £9.99 isn't it!
It will be available for download very soon. It comes in three versions, a PPC version and an HPC version for a 640x240 screensize machine and a desktop version. The  version for use on a desktop pc is written in Visual Basic, so looks and feels like a real windows package,
