Welcome to Cém Walkin' Ranch in Waco, Texas, owned by Stacy and Melisa Mason. Our Mission is to produce high quality, full blood Boer goats while raising the bar on the quality of the blacks, reds and paints. We are members of the International Boer Goat Association (IBGA), but all of our animals can also be registered with the American Boer Goat Association (ABGA). We believe the future livestock breeders should be able to find a show project at a reasonable price. Please ask about our special pricing for 4H or FFA wethers. We found that the goats that have a high percentage of South African (SA) blood are larger animals. I find that I like the CODI/PCI animals. But more than anything, we select our animals based on their own merits (conformation, resistance to illness and parasites, good mothering abilities, and soundness). Many Ennoblements on their pedigree is a plus, but not required. We are proud to have for our herd sire a 11/16 South African, solid black out of NDR Night Rider. His name is Midnight Rider and he is already awesome at 13 months. He has matured quickly and is muscling out nicely. He has in his lineage greats like Mzuri, Kaptein, Eggstreme, and Mojo Magic. We have taken a great deal of time and effort to handpick the does. Their pedigrees have names like Renoir, Tsjaka, Top Gun No. 2, Ubora, Eggs-Ryals Magnum, Eggstreme, Eggsfile, Favorite Trick, 2SIS 324M, Conan, Ash Creek Lonestar, Lookout Valleys Red Texan, and FSE Bravo. We believe these are among the best. Equally important is good Livestock Guardian Dogs. We have chosen Great Pyrenees that have a little Akbash mixed in. They are simply amazing in how they operate and take care of their herd. Also amazing is how the goats depend on them for protection. We are continually learning and have added a blog page to discuss goats and medicine and other events. (See my blog) We hope that you will contribute as well as ask questions that can be posted on this page. We like to hear what worked as well as what did not work.
