| Calvary Baptist Church is an autonomous body of baptized believers, choosing to affiliate themselves with Baptists of like faith, known as Southern Baptists. Since 1947, Calvary has maintained a thriving ministry in the community of Los Banos. Nominated in July of 2000 by the Los Banos Enterprise newspaper as one of the city's Friendliest Churches, our people are committed to encouraging the families of Los Banos to a greater awareness of Christ. Through our missions giving, Calvary maintains an active role in national and international missions. |

| The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. |

Communion Calvary observes Communion every First Sunday of each Month At Calvary we pass the communion bread and cup to everyone but they are intended to be taken by those who have made a public profession of their faith in Jesus Christ by means of believer’s baptism. To the first disciples, Jesus said, "Do this in remembrance of Me." As modern day disciples, we’re challenged to remember the marvelous life and ministry of our Savior as well as reflect upon the agonies of His crucifixion for our sins. The Lord’s Supper is to be an occasion for expressing our deepest praise and appreciation for all Jesus Christ has done for us. It is one of two symbolic ordinances instituted by Christ in the New Testament, to be observed by His church until He returns. Observance “While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." “Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, ‘Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom.” (Mark 14:22-25) |
