Catholic Walking Club of Victoria

The C.W.C.V. was founded in 1951 and has for its objectives the encouragement of walking and allied activities and the fostering of a greater appreciation of the outdoors. We have around 140 members from all areas of Melbourne and country areas.

MEMBERSHIP:

* Membership of the C.W.C.V. is open to anyone sixteen years of age or over who is genuinely interested in bushwalking. It is necessary to do four trips in twelve months to qualify for membership. Application forms are available from the Membership Secretary whose name and number are on the program. The program, issued every two months, can be viewed on the Web by going to the page marked CLUB PROGRAM or by contacting Tom Buykx on 9499-3877 for a copy.

MEETINGS:

* We meet each other on walks and other activities, therefore we have no official meetings other than the AGM in June.

5OTH ANNIVERSARY:

In 2001 the Club celebrated its 50th year and a book was published to commemorate those years.

 An Australian Blessing
May you always stand as tall as a gum tree,
Be as strong as the rock Uluru,
As gentle and still as the morning mist,
Hold  the warmth of the campfire in your heart.

And may the Spirit of God,
The Creator of this great south land of Australia,
Always walk with you.
Through Christ,
Amen.
