Jorge Posada

Jorge Posada & the New York Yankees. I love them. Welcome to my site. Becoming an elite catcher in baseball due to his toughness and productivity, Jorge Posada earned his third consecutive All-Star Game berth in 2002 with a monster offensive season. The rarest of breeds as a switch-hitting backstop, Jorge rapped 40 doubles, 20 home runs and had 99 RBI despite battling shoulder soreness. Jorge is a very consistent player, hitting over 20 home runs with over 85 RBI in each of the last three years.

Jorge was called up to the majors in 1995 and came into his own a couple seasons later, splitting catching duties for a time with Joe Girardi, before Girardi signed with the Chicago Cubs after the 1999 season. Jorge quickly blossomed with full-time catching chores, cracking 35 doubles and 28 home runs with a career-high 92 runs in 2000. He followed that up with a 22 homer, 95 RBI campaign in 2001.
