Welcome to The Castle Darts Team, a team primarily set up to achieve one task, get drunk mid-week, so we searched around for a league that played mid-week, and the only one going at that time (May 2000), was The Wards league, so naively we agreed to join, half our side never throwing a competitive darts before in their lives, sure we used to have a throw on a Friday, while we waited for everyone to turn up, then went off to get drunk, but that's totally different to the dead silence when someone shouts "Best of order please these darts to count", and you can feel your heart pumping so hard it hurts, so in our first season we got hammered week in week out, but we got pissed and had a good laugh, met new people, went to different pubs and clubs, we came bottom of the league, but we won "Most Sporting Team" award, which must say something towards our attitude towards getting beat every week. When the season ended another league started, The Central League, so we thought why not, this league ran parallel with a big prize money league, The Mag Seven, and a lot of good players join this league for the money, making The Central League slightly more easier, and we started winning a few matches, a combination of us getting better and the standards a little lower, we finished mid-table in this league, won the Team Knockout, and was acclaimed as most improved side, not bad to say we'd only been playing a year. We are now in our third season of the Wards League having come third last season in the Central League
