Bob: I have a question about the 3G iphone Holly: Sure! Holly: What can I help you with? Bob: I know that you have to get the $30/month data service, but what about text messaging? I am already on a family plan with unlimited texting. Holly: The texting on a family plan would be 30.00 and that would give each phone on the plan unlimited texting. Holly: You could also add texting to any individual line as well if you didn't want to add the family texting. Holly: To any individual line you can add texting in these amounts: 200 texts for 5 dollars, 1500 texts for 15 dollars or unlimited texting on one line for 20 dollars a month Bob: The other phones arent going to be iphones though. I talk with someone at the 800 number and they said it wouldnt be affected. Like I would still having unlimited texting forfor what I pay now Holly: Oh, gotcha! Yes, you could add the iPhone without paying anything extra for texting if you already have it on the family plan. Holly: The iPhone would then have unlimited texting as well, that's correct. Bob: ok what about the voice we all share minutes? I read somewhere that it might not change the voice plan. Bob: But if it does I dont really have a problem paying. Holly: It won't change the number of minutes in the plan. If you add a line though that is one more phone using the number of minutes in the plan. If you find you need more minutes in the plan, you can always upgrade it without any penalties or extra fees other than the new price of the new plan. Bob: Well I am going to be upgrading to the new iphone, it wont be a new line. If that makes sense Bob: I dont want to lose all my minutes. Holly: Ok, yes, if you upgrade your current phone - it won't change the plan minutes or number of phones on your current plan. Bob: Oh ok thats good, so I'd be basically paying like 30 bucks a months just for the data then? Holly: Yes, that's correct. Holly: The data is 30.00 so that's the only change you would see if your current phone does not take that 30.00 data service. Bob: Oh that is awesome I have the unlimited media net so its not much of a difference. But thanks alot for you help.
