Captain Beany is a self confessed zany orange caped crusading superhero from another dimension....or perhaps possibly escaped from your nearest spaced out nut house! Truly considered to be one of the leading nations great British eccentric and perhaps a worldwide award winning phenomena...dedicated to his humble devotion towards the great haricot baked bean! This 'half-baked' and 'full-blown' comic strip cartoon creation has 'bean' recognised for his epic mis-adventures on Planet Earth, and accordingly has 'bean' featured on national and international mainstream television, radio, magazine, and newspaper features! | In the year of 2003,Captain Beany decided to convert his two bedroom apartment block into the worlds first and visual BAKED BEAN MUSEUM of EXCELLENCE in Port Talbot, south Wales,United Kingdom. Consequently, for his unique devotion towards his contribution to tourism, he has 'bean' awarded by the Wales Tourist Board a signed 'star attraction' certificate. Media interest has gone mega bean overdrive since the inaugral launch of this Museum ! From Australia,Far East,and the Americas,the Museum has attracted visitors worldwide,and has generated a global curiousity bean appeal. Visitors are cordially invited to bring their cameras and film this remarkable exhibit and are rewarded by a personal hand signed momento certificate in return for haricot devotion to baked beans! A bean bonus is also incorporated with a 'Haricot Hall of Fame' photographed mounted frame for visitors to be photographed with Captain Beany!! |

| Captain Beany from Planet Beanus was conceived whilst his former human 'bean' self Barry Kirk, decided to recreate an unusual world record attempt and thanks to the inspiration of The Who's 60's album 'The Who Sell Out' with Roger Daltrey in a bath of baked beans, Barry created a bean bath record of 100 hours in September 1986. The 'BEAN-A-THON' which was an epic endurance 100 hour beananza was performed in the Aberavon Beach Hotel lobby in Port Talbot, and generated well over £1,500 for a mini bus appeal, on behalf of a local Gateway Club for special needs personnel in Port Talbot. Although not recognised by the official 'Guinness Book of World Records', the bath of baked beans has 'bean' documented in various alternative book of record stunts books! After a change of deed poll in May 1991, Barry Kirk relinquished his namesake to that of Captain Beany.Consequently, as they say, the rest is history, and Captain Beany from Planet Beanus has now 'bean' endorsed on all named related material - credit cards...including his well known travelling British passport. With the great public response to charitable fundraising,we have managed to amass £100,000 for local and national charitable concerns! |

| Kelloggs Fruit n ' Fibre Awards October 2001 The Kelloggs Fruit n' Fibre Awards were presented to the ten regional finalists throughout the United Kingdom, to commemorate those great unsung eccentric British characters that purvey this great little nation. Presented by no other than,Sir Norman Wisdom,at Holland Park,London,the finalists were rewarded with their 'Dafta' oscars in honour of their eccentric uniqueness. Captain Beany came a credulous fourth place,and overall became top Welsh Number One eccentric! |
Since acquiring his updated British passport,our intrepid orange cape crusading superhero has travelled extensively throughout the entire galaxies....well actually,to America recently! He has 'boldly' gone where no man 'has-bean' before in his superhero outfit,and previously has seen our wunderlust Captain Beany travel to LOS ANGELES NEW YORK BOSTON BRUSSELS PARIS LONDON DUBLIN and all in aid of both local and international charitable concerns!!
