CAPGADGET is a plug-in
and graphical browser for the serial version of the cosmological N-body/SPH
Gadget-1.1 NBODY simulator.
CAPGADGET is released under the
GNU license. It is written in C using
SDL, FreeType2
, and SDL_ttf
. It should compile and run in
Linux , UNIX® , Win32, MacOS, MacOS X, Amiga
OS, BeOS or any other environments supported by
SDL . I have personally built and tested
CAPGADGET using CYGWIN and
RedHat Version 7.1 and 7.2 .
Requirements:
A C compiler (Windows CYGWIN GNU and Redhat Linux 7.X prebuilt
binaries will be available for download soon)
A Computer (This is helpfull) Note that CAPGADGET is graphics intensive
2meg+ graphics cards work

Note the current version of
CAPGADGET usage of
FreeType2 will require that you have TrueType fonts installed.
Windows and Macs have these preinstalled.
The location of the font files is configurable. I will TRY to include some
default non-copyrighted fonts for Linux. CAPGADGET is still in it's infancy
and contains numerous undocumented features aka BUGS.
