Further explanation of each thumbnail:

A demonstration of the role the royal attendants played during the birthing of a child. The stone showed is the birthing stone. Four attendants were neccessary to carry out this "gravity birth."

This is the birth rock up close.
In order for the birth of an Ali'i to be recognized, 36 Hawaiian Chiefs had to witness it. One of these 36 was the father of the child. Modern day curators of the park have chosen to symbolize this using these 36 stones.
These two rocks are the main rocks that we will be studying. It is believed that these rocks were carved into the shape of the mountain range.
Circular carvings into the top of the rocks may have been used as calenders.
To show us how sunlight moves over the mountain, water was poured from above.
