Since Aug. 31, l996, this site on Geocities has undergone a LOT of server-side changes -- changes over which subscribers for the free services have no control. The most recent change was the acquisition of Geocities by Yahoo! A LOT of subscribers (like me) lost access to their old sites and had to relocate to a new address. I've also gone through five guestbooks. They all went under or sold out so all the entries have been lost. The recent loss of cgi-bin service, too, made the forms feature on Geocities unstable at best and non-existent at worst. So, I've re-routed the forms feature through another server. This is also the FOURTH counter this site has had to install. The last reliable count was over 40,000 hits in the Fall of 2000 (at the old address located in "Rain Forest"].
