  ******************************************************************************* CALLIAN'S DREAM was a rock and blues music band from the Washington, DC area..Formed in 1998 and featuring cover and original music, Callian's Dream played various venues, sharing the dreams and schemes of members who became like almost family..

  In August of 2001, we lost Lynette to a tragic fire.. the band went on an extended hiatus and has emerged as 2 new groups Clan Destyn and Luan Aleen.... We like to sometimes think Lynette sent Rufus, Nicole and Dorothy to us..

  ON AUGUST 17, 2001 CALLIAN'S DREAM KEYBOARD PLAYER EXTRAORDINAIRE LYNETTE (On the far right in the above picture) AND HER SON JOEY (HE WAS ABOUT 13 AND PLAYED A MEAN SAX) WERE CAUGHT IN A FIRE WHILE VISITING NEW YORK CITY.. THEY BOTH SUFFERED SMOKE INHALATION AND WERE TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL WHERE THEY WERE IN COMAS...IT IS WITH MUCH SADNESS AND GRIEF TO WRITE BOTH WERE TAKEN OFF LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS A FEW DAYS LATER.. THEY ARE NO LONGER WITH US IN THIS PHYSICAL LIFE..

  IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT INTO WORDS THE FEELINGS.. THE SENSE OF LOSS.. OF SOMEONE SO WONDERFUL, TALENTED AND WARM, SOMEONE WHO WAS LIKE A SISTER AND MORE.. THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS AND CHANTS AND MEDITATIONS, WE'RE SURE LYNETTE AND JOEY, WHERE EVER THEY ARE NOW, THANK YOU TOO..

  IT FELT LIKE FOR A SHORT TIME, A LITTLE WHILE AFTER I HEARD THE SAD NEWS, THE SPIRIT OF LYNETTE WAS IN THE ROOM WITH ME TO COMFORT ME IN MY SADNESS LIKE SHE'D DONE BEFORE WHEN I WAS SAD IN LIFE.. AND THEN SHE WAS GONE.. MEAGAN AND OUR FRIEND KARLA REPORTED SIMILAR EXPERIENCES..

  WE LOVE YOU LYNETTE AND JOEY.. WE WILL MISS YOU SO SO MUCH..

Callian's Dream is Meagan Lane on bass, flute and vocals, Lynette Brawer on keyboards and vocals, Dew Maisel on percussion and vocals and Davy Shannon on guitar and vocals..

Callian's Dream has played at such notable DC and Baltimore area venues as The Galaxy Hut, The Shark Club, Cowboy Cafe, Grog and Tankard, The Uncommon Market Festival, KarlaStock, Tex Mex Grill, Angelo's, The Imagine Peace Festival at The World Bank, Baltimore's Cafe Tattoo, The Hyperlight in Harford county, Maryland, Terra E Mare, Oliver's, the Velvet Lounge, The Independence Club, The Rebos Club and numerous other festivals, clubs and functions..

  "Callian's Dream, a Washington, DC area based band, is bursting upon the music scene with their exceptional songwriting and personalized versions of cover songs.

Named after lead vocalist/bassist Meagan Lane's faithful cat and a medieval village in southern France, Callian's Dream new CD "Havre De Grace" features such songs as guitarist Davy Shannon's "Havre De Grace", written about the beautiful little town in Maryland where the Susquehannah River meets The Chesapeake Bay. The band got a front page write up in the local newpaper, The Record; "Near Dark Jenny" is based on the movie "Near Dark" a cult classic story of modern day vampires, it was written for the actress Jenny Wright who played Mae the vampire in the film..

Jenny seemed to have disappeared from the public eye, a clip of the song was placed on The 'Near Dark" movie website where Jenny and her mom heard the clip and emailed the band!

Lynette Brawer adds the inspirational " The Power Within" and the rocker "We're In Motion".. "Down River (Greg Arnett) and "The Blacksmith" (traditional Irish) are collaborations with members of 2nd Story and quite well done.. Next comes the beautiful flute filled ballad "A Prayer for Rikki" and the folky "Rikki's Song", songs Davy wrote for his special friend Rikki..

The album finishes up with "Marlise's Song (Chesapeake Lady) written for one of Havre De Grace's most talented artist and musician - Marlise Mason. Most of the songs were recorded "live" at various venues..

  HEY STARSHIP TROOPERS! We have gotten favorable comments about our CD from those who have heard it! "Near Dark Jenny", written by yours truly about the actress Jenny Wright, star of the cult classic "Near Dark" who seemed to have just disappeared from the movie/TV scene, has received several favorable reviews..We've received commments from places such as The USA, The UK, Germany, France, Russia,India and New Zealand

Sarah, from The Near Dark movie web site, suggested we put a sound clip of our song on their web site and maybe Jenny or one of her friends might hear it. Jenny and her mom did hear it and sent us several emails! Jenny's mom (Marilyn) said Jenny wasn't ready to emerge from her shadows but she is alive and well and Jenny sent a short email saying she liked the song!!
