Isaie Bourque (Issac Burke), was the first son and eldest child in the family of seven children of Edouard Bourque and Anne Landry. Issac was born September 9, 1844 according the the census of 1901.
Issac married Marine Charlotte Deveau, baptised on December 12, 1848 at D'Escousse, Ile. Madame. Issac and Charlotte had eight children: A) Simon (Constant); B) Joseph Firman; C) Amie; D) Firman; E) Desire Alfred; F) Joseph; G) Issac; H) Mary Alfreda.
A)Constant Bourque (Simon Burke) was born on November 13, 1871. He married twice. His first wife was Virginia Digout, born in 1881. She was the daughter of Raymond Digout and Mary Ann Petitpas. Simon and Virginia had six children: a) Mary Elizabeth; b) Lottie Jane; c) Issac William; d) Wilfred; e) Joseph Raymond; f) Mary Elizabeth. Simon married his second wife, Roslie Anne Fougere on January 10, 1890. Roslie Anne was the daughter of John and Mary Fougere of Sampsonville, NS. Simon and Roslie Anne had eight more children: g) Mildred; h) David; i) Mary Alfreda; j) Elden; k) Joseph Alexander; l) Maxwell John; m) Florence; n) James Jordan.

B) Joseph Firman Bourque was born in February 1874 and he died in December 1874. Joseph Firman is buried in St. Peter's Parish Cemetery.
C) Amie Bourque was born January 9, 1875. Amie was unmarried and lived all his live in French Cove, NS
D) Firman Bourque (Firman Burke) was born about 1876. He was unmarried.
E) Desire Alfred Bourque (Desire Burke) was born January 30, 1876. He was a skilled carpenter who built a big house on the French Cove property for his parents. This house was passed on to his sister, Mary Alfreda Bourque (1886) in later life. The home and most of the property, now 33 Burke Road, was sold to Robert Schumacher after Mary Alfreda died. The house is currently occupied by Robert Schumacher and Doreen Burke, both descendants of Edouard Bourque. Desire also built the house that his brother, Issac and his family lived in, which today is owned and occupied by William Carter and his wife Susan. Desire was unmarried and lived all his life in French Cove.
F) Joseph Bourque (Blind Joe Burke) was born December 21, 1879. He was blind from childhood. He went to the school for the blind in Halifax for awhile. He played the fiddle and mouth organ. He never married, living at home in French Cove until his death.
G) Issac Bourque (Issac Burke) was born October 2, 1882. He married Maggie Burkey. Maggie is remembered as having a spinning wheel and doing a lot of carding and spinning. Issac and Maggie had three children: i) Joseph Lawrence (Rennie); ii) Vina; iii) Charles Abraham.

H) Mary Alfreda Bourque (Mary Burke) was born November 6, 1886. She had a twin sibling who died at birth according to family. Mary Alfreda was baptised by Rev. Charles P. Martell on November 8, 1886 at St. John the Baptist church, River Bourgeois. Mary Alfreda married Anselme Maillet (Sam Myers) in Sydney, NS.
