9th Virginia Cavalry Company K (dismounted) The Richmond County Cavalry War of Northern Aggression re-enactors Equipment and Uniforms of the 9th Virginia:

Uniform:
      Richmond Depot II: Any dark gray color, Virginia buttons recommended,
      Trousers: Sky blue, or gray
      Period Shirt,
      Suspenders,
      Cavalry Boots,
      Headgear: Any military style hat, or slouch, no hat cords and minimal hat brass,

Equipment:
      Carbine: Any period carbine or shotgun. Please check for acceptability before purchasing,
      Saber: 1840 or 1860 Cavalry saber (optional),
      Sidearm: Any period steel-frame side arm, Please check for acceptability before purchasing,
      Cartridge Box,
      Cap Box,
      Sword Belt: with CS, Virginia, or US belt buckle,
      Holster,
      Gauntlets (optional),
      Canteen,
      Haversack,
      Tin Cup,
      Tin Plate,
      Eating Utensils,
      Blanket: Union or Confederate variations,
      Groundsheet/Rubberized (gum) blanket,
      Shelter half (Dog tent),

Currently, the cost to completely outfit a cavalry trooper in the 9th Va is close to $1800.
