Hello
My name is Michael Barron and I lived at Boughton Hall Children's Home, Filkins Lane, Chester, Cheshire, between 1970-1974.

I have searched the web many times, expecting a site to be here, but unfortunately I never did. so I have built this site in hope that I can trace some very good friends that I made during that period of my life.

I still look back on those days with much fondness.

I am hoping that some of my old mates will get in contact and let me know how they are getting on 30 years later.

Here are a list of names who I remember. If I don't list your name, I apologise, it has been a long time.

DEAN JONES
KARL MOSS(Prof)
DAVID WOOLLEY
ANDREW COOPER
BILLY NUTTALL
KEVIN GALLAGHER & SISTER(sorry, can't remember your name - but Janet rings a bell!!!)
PHIL(Cherry Nose-sorry, can't remember your last name)
JIMMY CURRIE
DEBORAH SUTHERLAND
HAYLEY SUTHERLAND
TRACEY WESTERN
CAROL(Kaz-can't remember your last name, but you were nuts about Marc Bolan)
DENISE(Can't remember your last name, but you loved the song Ferry across the Mersey)

There were lots more children there, but I am unable to recall anymore.

It would also be nice to hear from any of the staff as well. Especially the dreaded Auntie Margaret Sweeney - You would definitely remember her.

I was there at the time when the home was run by Uncle Guy and Auntie Peggy, just before they retired to Yeovil in Sommerset.

If you can't remember me, I was the boy who was mad about the groups Deep Purple and Uriah Heep and I left to move to Basildon in Essex.
I still live in Basildon and I still love DP & UH.
If you remember me, I have a small biography HERE if you would like to find out what I have been up to since 1974.
I am currently beginning a mature training course in nursing, and work at my local hospital.

It would be lovely to hear from anyone who lived/worked at Boughton Hall, even people who were there before/after I was, so that I may be able to place some stories and memories on this site that we all can share.

I hope that life has been good to you, and I hope to hear from you soon

Michael Barron
