We here at bookchaserUS, with years of experience
in the book trade, understand well the governing mandates and concerns
of used/op book buyers. We are familiar with and sympathetic to the
financial strictures governing acquisition costs and resale pricing.
Without reasonable conformance to both budgetary and markup/profit requirements
the job of book buyer becomes an exercise in diminishing returns.
The purchasing of reasonably and appropriately priced stock is vital to
the care and feeding of the independent bookstore as well as to the ever
expanding university and corporate library.
Enter bookchaserUS and others of our ilk. Years spent as book scouts has gone far to reinforce for us this fundament reality of bookselling. Hence, in the majority of our transactions, most commonly in the areas of general shelf stock, you will find us willing participants in a pricing schedule that posts typically a 1/4 to 1/3 fraction of standard resale price as the governing discount for most titles.
Along with our across-the-board deep discounting policy, bookchaserUS is also pleased to offer-third party drop shipping of individual items for the cost of shipping alone. For more extended/elaborate transactions involving the separate shipping of three items or more from the same invoice, we charge an additional, if still quite reasonable rate, of $1.00 per book above regular shipping rates.
Our initial listings (April, 2001) of roughly 1,200 titles are being supplemented at the rate of a hundred titles weekly. We have a large inventory of books and book related items yet to be listed on our web sites, among them a substantial quantity of martial arts/eastern philosophy, biography, literature, genre fiction, esoterica, and arts related titles, in both hardcover and paperback. In our efforts to substantially expand bookchaserUS' services we are constantly acquiring new titles in subject areas both mainstream and more specialized/esoteric in scope.
We make a practice of consulting our wants file
previous to any posting of available titles. It may therefore prove
profitable for you to send us your wants, permanent or temporary.
We think you will find bookchaserUS to be a valuable

As for our grading and documentation of our stock, we prefer to err on the side of understatement . Our descriptions reflect the idea that it is better for a customer to be pleasantly surprised than to experience the kind of disappointment that jeopardizes the integrity, competency and credibility of that bond and very relationship we consider our penultimate job to maintain.

30 day billing may be arranged for our library,
corporate, other institutional customers as well
as our regular bookseller accounts.
Any book or item purchased from bookchaserUS (and for that matter, bookchaserUK) may be returned for a full refund for any reason whatsoever, within 30 days of its original purchase. We ask only that any/all items returned to be in the same condition as originally shipped, with bookchaserUS assuming all costs excluding return shipping. The goodwill of our customers is far more important commodity to us than a buck scrounged here and there.
Individual titles may be reserved by way of e-mail or telephone. We will hold all items for seven days prior to payment/order.
With our (approx. 50-100) weekly additions of substantial numbers of titles, we encourage our customers to consult our listings on a regular basis.
