FIGHT CAR CULTURE
BOISE CRITICAL MASS
promoting awareness of bicycle commuting and a cyclist's right to the road.

how?
mass rides. all welcome. bring friends.

when?
boise critical mass is currently defunct due to lack of turnout. however, there is a new mass of sorts: the boise downtown bike shutdown. the shutdown occurs every third saturday at 21:30 at the state capitol building. check out the above link or the news page. in this case, i think i prefer the cinder blocks...

critical mass notes:
we are trying to promote cycling and alternative transportation. we are not interested in pissing off the vehicularly challenged. we encourage observation of all rules of the road. in the case of multiple-lane roads, we will leave at least one lane free. in the case of single-lane roads we may ride two abreast. we do not block traffic, we are traffic.

ultimately, we want a peaceful ride that opens the eyes of motorists and maybe encourages a few more people to divorce their cars for a bicycle love affair. unfortunately, confrontation is not unheard of on critical mass rides but we do not seek confrontation. violent behaviour will not be productive.

signs and flyers are great for educating people about who we are, why we ride, and why they should ride. also, cameras can be useful and fun. images can be emailed to
boisecritmas@yahoo.com.

the philosophy and history of critical mass is further explored in many of the provided links and links therein. please take some time to become informed and then get involved.
