March 2003 - Week 3

Monday

March 17
HAve to use NBC's summary for today, in my rush to get my exams turned in I didn't put a tape in the VCR! Even if I did, I'm to drained after typing 14 hours a day for the past week to type a summary anyways! I'll be back tomorrow (unless the show is not on because of war)
Jack, Jennifer, and Abby share a happy breakfast together. As Jack tries to fix the toaster, he gets a call from the paper about a press conference being held by Carson Palmer. He goes to cover the conference and is extremely suspicious of Palmer's spin on the recent arrest and conviction statistics. When Jack asks some questions about gang activity, Palmer evades and abruptly ends the conference. Meanwhile, Jennifer gets a call from her father and she tells him that she and Jack are going to re-marry. As she listens to her father, she manages to repair the toaster. Jack returns and tells Jennifer he's convinced something is going on with Carson Palmer and he's determined to figure out what it is...

Bo is furious when he sees a gang member he arrested is out on lack of evidence and already being hauled back into the station. Roman speculates that there may be someone behind all these "technicalities" that are increasing the gang activity in Salem and Bo vows to bring him down. Meanwhile, Brady is pacing nervously while Chloe has another chemo treatment and Nicole is unhappy because Victor has dragged her along to a hospital board meeting. Bo shows up to check on the victim of a drive-by shooting and runs into Victor; he asks Victor if he might be behind the gang activity, but Victor genuinely denies. Brady sees Nicole spill coffee on herself and helps her clean it off, unaware that he is dabbing at her chest. He senses her unhappiness, but she covers and says she's very happy. Victor comes to collect Nicole and Brady watches them go, wondering if they truly are happy. Bo sees the victim, then returns to the station and has a heated confrontation with Carson Palmer...

Haven’t proofed the summary. I’m still feeling a little drained from my exams. I think I just need to catch up on a lot of missed sleep!
At the hospital, Brady shows up because Craig tells him that Chloe needs him. Craig tells him that Chloe is feeling ill from the chemo and needs someone. He says Nancy and the Baby are to leave the hospital today and he’s overwhelmed. Brady goes to see Chloe, but she asks him to leave her alone because he can’t be with her right now. Brady tells her not to push him away. Chloe says she doesn’t want him to see her like this, and to get the hell away from her. He eventually leaves, and he tells Craig and Nancy that Chloe pushed him away. Nancy demands to be taken to see Chloe, and she gives her picture of Joy. Nancy says Joy will be here to help her just as she will help Joy for many years to come. Chloe talks to Nancy and her dad about how horrible she is feeling, and how mean it is making her to be to other people. Chloe is also afraid. Nancy and Craig tell her that it is okay to be scared, and it is good that she is talking about it.

At the Penthouse, Belle shows up and is in tears. She tells her dad that she needs him. Belle tells her dad that when she called Shawn’s room a girl answered, and she thinks maybe Shawn cheated on her. John helps her through it, and as they talk, Brady shows up for some advice from dad. Belle leaves them to talk, but not before assuring her dad that she will be okay. Brady talks to his dad and asks how he got through this when mom was so sick.

Brady goes back to the hospital and watches Chloe as Nancy and Craig show her Joy (through the window of her room).

Hope shows up at the station to see Bo with news that Larry was there! He asks what she means? Hope wasn’t clear before and says she brought a vision of Larry into her session with Marlena so she could blast him out of the water and it felt great. Bo is very happy. Later, Abe and Lexi show up, and Bo is furious when he learns more criminals have been released. Bo refuses to let this keep happening, but Abe stops him from doing what he was going to do. Abe tells Bo that he won’t let Bo take the law into his own hands, and if he does, Carson will have his badge. Bo says he may be a cop, but he’s also a father, and it is time they clean up their streets for their kids. Abe understands how Bo is feeling. Suddenly the baby kicks, and Lexie lets Hope feel. Lexie says she and Abe have been taking Lamaze classes. Abe forgot to mention that he can’t make the next class, so Hope suggests she sit in. Lexie is touched, and Hope says perhaps they can make this a new start them. Hope and Lexie then hug. Hope wants to offer her help with this latest crime wave. Bo tells her not to even think about becoming a cop again, so she’ll have to think of another way to help. She tells him that perhaps she will. Hope suggests they go to the party at the pub, and Abe ends up pulling rank and demands Bo stop working for the day and go have fun.

At the dorms, Cassie snoops and finds a gift Shawn gave Belle, along with a note telling her how much he loves her. MArlena walks in and is shocked at Cassie. Marlena thinks Cassie is just studying and is shocked that she has to crack a book. Marlena talks with Cassie and wants to spend time with her, but Cassie says she has to study. Marlena thinks Cassie is still upset with her. Cassie says she isn’t, and she’s feeling down because everyone went to celebrate some saints day but no one invites her. MArlena says they will go out and have a good time, so they leave.

At the Brady Pub, the Brady’s throw a huge party for St. Patty’s day. Rex shows up to hang out with Mimi and experience some Irish culture. Irish “Riverdance” jig dancing is enjoyed, and Mimi is the star of the show. Later, Marlena and Cassie show up. Some guy begins checking Cassie out, and Mimi points it out to her. Cassie claims she is “so” over Shawn and asks Mimi to help her out with this guy. Mimi teaches Cassie how to dance, and she asks her if she is being nice because of her brother? Mimi admits that Rex is hot, but he is very hard to read. Cassie says she’ll just have to figure Rex out for herself. Meanwhile, Marlena notices Rex’s fondness for Mimi. She gives him some pointers for fostering a new relation with Mimi. Rex, however, doesn’t like what MArlena has to say. He doesn’t think anyone should ever open themselves up and let themselves be vulnerable because they are setting themselves up to be hammered. Meanwhile, the guy noticing Cassie notices someone new come in that he likes even better, Belle! This ticks Cassie off. Marlena welcomes Belle to the party, as does Mimi and Rex. Mimi ends up dragging Rex to the dance floor, and Marlena goes to say hi to Caroline, leaving Cassie and Belle to talk. Cassie ends up asking Belle if she has had sex with Shawn yet? Belle and Cassie get into an argument, and Cassie tells her she should put out of face losing Shawn. Belle tells Cassie she shouldn’t talk because she has no experience. Cassie decides to fix that and goes to dance with a guy. Meanwhile, Mimi tries to get Rex to open up to her, but he refuses. He says he’s not going to be the same foolish person he was when he came to Salem. Rex blows her off and leaves, and Belle ends up leaving the pub as well. Bo, Hope, Abe, and Lexie show up, and green beer is served all around, except for LExie of course. While at the party, Bo gets the news that the shot kid died. Abe orders Bo off this case because he is too close to it. Bo ends up taking off anyways, and Abe worries about Bo. John shows up later, and Marlena is glad to see him. He tells her about Belle and Brady’s visit and how he realized how important the closeness of his family is to him. He wants them to get past this tension, and the two dance.

March 19
Haven't proofed this, zipping off to dinner with friends to celebrate my exams being done!
At Sami and Brandon’s, Sami brings up the idea of sharing a checking account with Brandon, but he refuses. Sami thinks Brandon thinks she’s a bimbo and will spend all his money. Brandon says that isn’t it, it is just much more of a commitment than he is ready to make right not. Their fight is interrupted by a visit from Faye. Faye has brought some food over as a housewarming gift. Brandon is beeped to the hospital, and Sami encourages Faye to stay so the two of them can get to know one another. Sami is a nervous wreck around Faye, and ends up spilling some tea on her. Faye tells her that it is no big deal. Unfortunately Sami opens up her big mouth about Nicole, which offends Faye. Faye tells Sami that she will not sit here and listen to Sami badmouth her daughter. Faye is furious and wants to leave, but Sami asks not to leave. They end up talking more, and Sami thinks Faye disapproves of her and Brandon’s living arrangement without a formal commitment. Faye says she thinks Brandon marrying her would be an even bigger mistake. Sami realize that Faye doesn’t want her with Brandon at all. Faye says that she just wants Brandon to be happy. Sami says she does to, and that she loves him more than she will ever know. Sami says she is very concerned about Brandon and his rage problems, especially with regards to Abe. When Sami wants answers and help getting Brandon past this whole Abe issue, Faye gets angry and decides to leave.

At the hospital, Brandon runs into Lexie and Abe. He hopes there isn’t a problem. Lexie says they are here for Lamaze class. Brandon tries to be nice and chit chat, but it obviously annoys Abe. When Lexie goes to the bathroom, Abe and Brandon end up going at it again. Brandon is “concerned” that Abe isn’t there for Lexie, but Abe says they know this isn’t about Lexie it is about him wanting to get back at him for what happened years ago. Brandon insists that his concern for Lexie is not about the past between them, it is about the present and the future. Later, Lexie and Abe go to class, but Abe is called away to the station. Brandon learns this and goes to Lamaze class. He sees another person who doesn’t have a partner, and ends up offering to help her. Abe eventually returns, and it bugs both him and Lexie that Brandon is telling this woman that he can’t believe the father of her child would leave her for any reason.

Tony drops by the Penthouse to see Marlena. Marlena seems to be reluctant to want to let Tony into the penthouse, but she does. They talk about the twins, and Marlena tells Tony about Cassie’s wild dancing with a boy at the pub today. Tony is shocked that MArlena did not try and stop Cassie. Marlena says that Cassie isn’t a child. Tony decides he should probably go because john might walk in on them here and not like it. Marlena says John is away on a business call. Tony then decides to invite Marlena out to dinner and continue talking about the twins. She says she would like that, but she can only stay for a little while. They end up going to the Blue Note for dinner, and while dining, some mysterious men approach Tony to talk about how they have “found” him. MArlena wonders who these men have found, and what Tony is going to do to this man. Tony says he found the man who was the doctor who helped deliver the babies. MArlena wants to talk to him, so they both leave to question Rolfe.

At the locker room at school, Belle confronts Shawn about his one night stand. Shawn tries to explain, but Belle tells him not to. Suddenly Pam, the team equipment manager, comes and gives Shawn back his phone. She thanks him for letting her borrow his phone to check on her sick mother. Belle realizes she has made a big blunder. An even bigger blunder is realized when Shawn tells her that not only did he not do anything with Pam, Pam likes girls! Belle and Shawn both realize they are having communication problems, but Belle feels it is not her fault. Shawn knows a lot of the problem is on his end.
