At Tuscany, Kate is furious that she has been forced to go on a date with Roman. She demands he take these handcuffs off her because he can’t base a relationship on force. Roman considers it tough-love. Kate tells him that she does care about him and they have fun together, but he is not her type and she doesn’t want to go to the heart-and-flowers place with him. She is blunt and tells him that he is a cop and makes a cop’s salary, and she doesn’t want that kind of man. She also tells Roman that he is settled and only a few years away from being a middle-aged bore! Roman has had enough torture, so he takes the cuffs off and goes to the table. He tells her that she can join him, or she can’t. Tony then sends Kate a bottle of champagne, but she refuses to talk to him. She tells Tony that she knows what she wants from him. He says “the same thing Captain Brady wants.” They continue to argue, and Kate insists Roman is not leading him on. Tony says Captain Brady would do anything to get the goods on him, including using her! He then tells her that Roman may not be using her, but he is after a Marlena replacement! Roman ask Kate if this man is giving her trouble, but she says the only thing giving her trouble is him! She tells Roman to go find himself another Marlena Evans! Roman leaves, and Kate drinks with Tony. Kate ends up getting drunk and tells Tony that he won’t take anymore from her because Stefano took enough from her! She then runs out of the restaurant.
At Jack and Jen’s, Abby plans to go spend the night with her grandma Jo and grandpa Vern so her mom and dad can spend quality time together. After she leaves, Jack and Jen share a kiss. However, Jen continues to be haunted by what she did with Collin, and she pulls away from Jack. She says she is sorry, but he says it is okay. She wishes she could get on a time machine and go back to when she first met Collin and then turn him away. Jack assures her that it is okay and that they will get over this. Jen then remembers they have to help set up her grandma Alice’s birthday celebration.
Elsewhere, Larry makes himself up in white makeup in order to drive Hope crazy. He says her imaginary specter may need some help, and it will be sweet revenge watching her go slowly crazy as she tries to shake him.
At Bo and Hope’s, Hope wakes up after another nightmare about Collin. Bo tells her that she called out Collin’s name, and he asks if he was in her dream? Hope says she can’t remember, but she is afraid of these blackouts. Bo assures her that she will make it through this, and that they will get rid of the ghost of Larry forever. Later, Jack and Jen show up to help with Alice’s birthday celebration. Hope says everything arrived, all they have to do is bring it up from the basement and set it up. Bo and Jack go to get the stuff, and Jen and Hope have a chance to talk. They talk about Jack, and Jen says she and Jack are working their way back together. Hope says she is so happy, and she wants to hear everything. Suddenly, Jen begins to cry. She begins to try and open up to Hope when Marlena shows up. Marlena is invited in, and she asks Jen if something is wrong. Jen says she is just having a hard time right now. Jen ends up opening up to Marlena. Marlena tells her that this was not her fault and not what she wanted. Jen thanks Marlena, and Marlena offers to be here for her anytime she needs to talk. Meanwhile, Larry shows up outside Hope’s place to haunt her! In the basement, Bo asks Jack about him and Jen. Jack says Jen is having a tough time with Collin. Jack blows up and feels bad that he couldn’t stop Collin or protect Jen. Jack says that is something he will never forgive himself for. Bo says he speaks from experience that blaming himself will not help him or Jen. Bo and Jack return, and find Marlena with Jen and Hope. Jack asks Jen what is wrong? Jen says she was just talking to Marlena about what happened. Meanwhile, Bo realizes Hope has seen Larry again. Hope realizes Jen’s opening up is helping her, so she wants to open up to them. Hope tells them about her problem with Larry. Hope says she is also ready for regular sessions. Marlena says they should start now, and Jen says they can fix up the party tomorrow morning. Jen and Jack leave, and Marlena begins therapy with Hope. She describes her last vision of Larry, only something was different about him this time. Marlena asks her how he looked different? She isn’t sure, so Marlena asks her to picture how she saw him. Hope tries, and says that he looks more real. Outside, Larry still lurks, and ends up dropping some matches. Meanwhile, as the session continues inside, Bo heads outside for some air. Hope goes out to get him after the session is over, and Marlena takes off. Hope knows Bo was looking for Larry Welch. Bo says he had to make sure he wasn’t really out there. Hope tells him know he knows what she is going through. Bo takes Hope up to bed, and Hope realizes Larry’s face was different this time. She says this time it was more real and white like a mask.
Jack and Jen return home, and Jen asks Jack to stay with her tonight. Jen says she needs him tonight, but she isn’t ready to make love to him.
MArlena returns home and ends up having a memory. She is in the white room on the table, and she is singing “rock-a-bye-baby!”
Brady and Chloe help Belle and Shawn move back into the dorms. Belle, however, is nowhere to be found. Brady worries, and Chloe and Caprice know he is worried about Tony. Chloe thinks maybe Tony is different, but Brady says he is just as dangerous as Stefano ever was. Chloe thinks that Brady needs to let Belle decide what type of relationship she has with Tony, but Brady says she will have no relationship with Tony! Caprice agrees with Chloe, they need to let Belle make her own choices.
At the penthouse, Marlena remains troubled by the memory she had of singing “Rock-a-bye-baby.” John shows up and asks Marlena what is wrong? She says it is Tony, what if he is right? Marlena says that he needs to accept that he is Tony’s brother, and it could be a positive step towards ending this feud. She says she doesn’t want this war to move into their children’s generation. He tells her that she is right, and that he doesn’t want to talk about this anymore. They plan to have dinner together tonight, and then Marlena leaves for work. Marlena makes a call and asks to meet with someone to talk. Meanwhile, John learns where Belle is, from a phone call, and takes off.
Marlena meets up with Kate to have a talk. Kate is feeling lonely because most of her family has left, she only has Lucas and Will left. However, she says Will is having some major attitude problems and has been downright cold and rude. Marlena says she has seen this change in Will as well, and she thinks Will is trying to assert himself. Kate says that Lucas is trying to hard to make himself look cool to Will, and he is convinced that Will is perfect as is and anything negative in Will is Sami’s fault. Marlena and Kate realize that this is not good, so they talk about trying to get Will to a child psychologist. Kate then asks Marlena what is upsetting her?. Marlena says she seems to be wallowing in feelings of guilt and regret. She tells Kate that she is in so much pain that she can’t even tell John about it. She relates the story about John and Tony being brothers, and how John has become obsessed with Tony’s every move. She goes on to tell her about having memories about the twins. She also feels guilty about leaving her children. Kate tells her that she is not to blame, they were both victimized by men who wanted to control them. Marlena feels guilty for talking about the time she lost with her children when Kate lost time as well. Kate tells her it is okay. Marlena is beeped and has to leave. After she goes, Kate says the only difference is Marlena only lost time, whereas she lost so much more!
At the mansion, Belle shows up to see Cassie and Rex. Tony wants to take the time to get to know his niece, but she says she is not a DiMera. Tony tells Belle that he has something to show her, a very special picture. He gives her a picture of Daphne, her grandmother. She says she is beautiful, and didn’t have a drop of DiMera blood in her, but he does. Belle says she agrees with his father, he is not part of their family. Tony says her father is wrong, and he hopes she will come to accept him. He then offers her a necklace that belonged to her grandmother. She takes it and thanks him. Meanwhile, the twins spy on Tony and Belle. Cassie wonders what Belle is up to with Tony. They listen in, and Cassie is angry that Belle gets everything she wants, first Shawn and now Tony. Cassie and Rex go in, and Cassie admires Belle’s necklace. When Belle says it is her grandmother’s, Cassie asks how John will react to it? Nephew Brady shows up and is furious to find Belle with Tony. Brady warns Tony to stay away from his sisters. John then shows up and tells Brady that he’ll take it from here. John warns him to stay away from his family, which includes Marlena. Belle tells her dad she only came here to help Cassie and Rex move. Brady ends up angry that Tony is going to remain around Belle as he helps the twins move. John assures Brady that he will make sure nothing happens to Belle. John says he doesn’t want this war to be passed onto his children, and so it will end right now with him. Meanwhile, Tony is furious that John told him to stay away from his wife. Tony says it is payback time!
At Brandon’s, Sami apologizes for making demands of Brandon and she promises to work on her self-confidence. They talk about what is in the news, which is Collin’s murder. Brandon worries because he is one of the suspects. Faye shows up to talk with Brandon, so Sami leaves to give them time alone. However, she doesn’t really leave, she stays outside and spies on them. Faye tells Brandon that she is worried about him. Brandon asks why? Faye says she can’t forget how angry he was with Collin the night he was murdered. Brandon realizes that his mom thinks he murdered him. She says she doesn’t, but it looks like he did. She begins questioning him, and Brandon asks if Abe put her up to this? She says no, and she just wants him to tell her that he didn’t do it. Sami begins to panic, and then she gets a call from Jack who asks her to come meet him at the spectator because he has a lead on who killed Collin. She says she’ll be right there. Meanwhile, Brandon is hurt that his mom suspects him. She says if he is so innocent then why did he leave the scene? Brandon says he knew Abe would try and pin this on him, so that is why he left. Faye and Brandon both calm down, and Faye eventually leaves.
Sami meets with Jack, and he has some questions for her about Collin. He asks her about the photos she had of Collin and Nicole. Sami explains why she had them, and that she had to give the photos up to Nicole. Jack wonders if Collin made copies of the photos and used them. Sami and Jack end up realizing that Nicole could have been blackmailed by Collin the night of the wedding, and it is possible she would have killed him to save her marriage to Victor. Sami and Jack agree to work together to try and get the goods on Nicole. Sami leaves, and thinks Nicole will soon be rotting in jail! She says things would only be better if she could have pinned the murder on Lexie!
At the mansion, Victor and Nicole arrive home from their honeymoon. Victor asks her if it isn’t wonderful to be home? Nicole says one prison is the same as the other! Nicole tells Victor that he controlled her every move on their honeymoon. She says she couldn’t sneeze without someone reporting to him. She asks if that is because he loves and trusts her so much? Victor asks if he should trust her? He slyly hints that she might be a major suspect in Collin’s murder if she can’t come up with a good alibi. Nicole begins to worry, and pours herself a drink. Victor then blackmails her and says the only real evidence against her is locked up in his safe, the tape of her making love to Collin. He says as long as she is good, that is where it will stay. Nicole then points out that the tape also incriminates him, the jealous and angry groom! Victor throws a glass across the room and tells her that she is forgetting whom she is talking to! He says nobody will suspect him! He also says if they do, she can’t be forced to testify against him, so it’s till death do they part!
At the dorms, Belle, Shawn, and the twins all move in. Shawn is actually helping decorating for his grandma Alice’s party, so he is not there. Cassie questions Belle about Shawn, his family, and Collin’s murder. Belle wonders why Cassie is so interested in the murder. Cassie asks if she knows who the prime suspect is? Belle says it is Tony. Cassie says Tony didn’t do it! She is shocked Belle would even talk about her own uncle that way. Belle says she doesn’t consider Tony family. Cassie says he thinks of her as family, why else would he give her his mother’s brooch. Belle says this is her grandmother’s, and she only married a DiMera. Belle refuses to talk about this anymore. Cassie asks what Shawn got her for Christmas? Belle says a date, which had to be postponed. Cassie tries to find out if they have rescheduled, and Belle becomes annoyed with Cassie. She decides to go help Shawn decorate for his grandmother’s party, and Cassie insists she go as well.
At Hope’s, Larry spies on Hope and learns she is home alone, so he decides to haunt her some more. Larry walks right into the house, and Hope throws a vase at him. However, it isn’t Larry, it is Shawn! Hope saw Larry where Shawn was. Shawn asks his mom what she is doing? Larry didn’t get a chance to go scare Hope because Shawn showed up. Shawn asks his mom what is going on with her? She tells him that Larry is haunting her. She also tells Shawn that she is experiencing blackouts, and she can account for her whereabouts the night Collin was murdered. Hope explains hearing Collin threaten to kill Bo, and then he became Larry in her eyes. She asks Shawn if he knew where she went that night? Shawn says no, and he insists he found her here at home and she was here the entire time. Hope and Shawn end up leaving for Tuscany to help with Alice’s party.
At Tuscany, everyone meets up to help decorate for Alice’s party. Shawn is surprised to see Cassie, but says she can stay and help. Later, Shawn overhears Jen talking to Hope about the murder investigation. Shawn becomes curious, and Hope wonders why he is so interested? Shawn says Collin was his cousin, and the murder did happen at his Grandpa Victor’s. Shawn says he doesn’t want to talk about this anymore and runs off. Cassie goes after him and she says she knows what is bothering him. She claims she knows he is worried about his mother. Shawn is relived, and they decide to decorate. Belle butts in points out that she is not really invited to this party. Shawn says Belle does have a point. Cassie throws a bit of a tantrum and runs out. Belle has basically had it with Cassie’s thing for Shawn. Belle tries to talk to Shawn, and he ends up telling her that she wishes she would stop pushing him! Meanwhile, Hopes takes the trash out and is grabbed from behind!
Sami and Brandon show up, and she gives Maggie condolences because her father is working on the murder investigation and can’t come, Caroline is with Shawn Sr., and Marlena and John are also busy. Lucas, Jack, and Jen walks over and talk to Sami and Brandon. Lucas asks “Scami” why she is here, she is not related to Alice. Sami says Will is a Horton, so she should be invited. She also points out that she has spent more time with Mrs. Horton than he has, and she tells him not to spoil this party for Mrs. Horton or she will smack that goatee off of his face! Later, Lexie calls and says she can’t come, which pleases Sami. Brandon evesdrops on the call about Lexie’s morning sickness, and Sami doesn’t like it.
Hope is taking out the trash when Bo grabs her from behind. She screams out “I’ll kill you Larry!” Bo tells her to take it easy! She hugs him and wonders what is wrong with her. A spying Larry realizes that Hope is so whacked out all she needs is one good push to send her over the edge. Bo tells Hope that she is not in this alone, and together they will beat this. Larry tells himself “I don’t think so!” Bo and Hope go back inside, and Hope talks to Jen about her problems. Later, Hope talks with Bo about what is happening to her. She hates that she has attacked both him and Shawn.
Shawn takes off to think, and ends up throwing a tantrum outside. We see a flashback of him looking at Collin’s dead body. He says he doesn’t know what to do. Belle finds Shawn outside, and she decides to give him space, but he tells her not to go. Belle asks him what is wrong? She tells him that in the past she might not have been as understanding as she would like to have been, but she has grown up since then. She says he can tell her anything. Shawn says she is right, and he needs to tell someone. Larry listens in as Shawn tells Belle about the problem’s Hope is having. Belle asks if that is all he has to tell her? Shawn tells her that he’s never going to forget New Years Eve because Collin’s murder ruined their night together. Belle says that as long as they know they are meant to be together than everything will be okay. Larry says this is just too good to be true!
Alice finally shows up at Tuscany with Doug and Julie, and everyone jumps out and yells surprise! They all celebrate Alice, and run through the family tree and history. We are then treated to classic Alice flashbacks, such as when Alice helped Bo break Roman out of jail. We also see Tom and Alice’s second wedding, the official one after they found out the first was invalid for so many years. Will and Abby then give Alice a bouquet of flowers, and everyone wishes Alice a happy birthday. The time for the mystery guest to be revealed has come, and it is Tom Horton! They show a clip of Tom Horton reciting a love poem for Alice at a night club under his alias Norm DePlum! Afterwards Mickey reads a list of all of Alice’s contributions to the community. He also reveals that Alice has started up a Tom and Alice Horton fund at the hospital, and she has asked Lucas to head the fund and allocate such funds to several worthy causes. Lucas says he is honored and accepts. Hope and Jen are also asked to serve as chair people, and they accept. Before everyone begins dancing, Lucas gloats to Sami that they will be working together, and she will have to start getting him coffee! As the dance commences, more flashbacks of Alice over the years are shown. They then give Alice her gift, a quilt made up of various symbols which have special meaning to her, such as a life preserver for all the times she saved Bo and Hope’s lives, a ruby for her ruby, a donut which is also the circle of life, red dancing shoes from Maggie and Melissa, and an angel for Addie. More patches on the quilt are a tree from Jack, Jen, and Abby; a candle to light the way; and a bone from Bill to symbolize the archaeological expeditions they went on years ago.
Later, Hope goes out for air, and hears Larry whispering “Murderer, you killed Collin Murphy!” Larry appears to Hope and tells her to remember killing Collin. Hope goes back into the party as Alice is blowing out her birthday candles, and she wonders if she killed Collin.
At Brady’s, Brady is attempting to hack into the DiMera server. Chloe thinks they have worked enough tonight and tries to distract him with kisses. Suddenly, Brady breaks into the server! Chloe can’t believe Brady is spying on the DiMera’s. Chloe doesn’t think he should be doing this. Suddenly, John shows up and wants Brady to stay out of this fight with Tony. John says it is his job to protect their family, not his. John wonders if he is too late, has Brady already done something? Brady realizes that this is going to take awhile. John sneaks a look at the PC, and realizes what Brady is up to. John kills his connection and tells Brady that he has to stop this now. John has to leave to meet Marlena, and asks Brady to stop interfering. John leaves, and Brady runs to his PC and goes back to work. Chloe begs Brady not to do this. Brady retrieves the information he downloaded, and then gets a call from Uncle Tony. Tony tells Brady that he knows he broke into his server. Brady says he will use what he found to nail him! Tony plays along, and asks Brady to meet him so they can talk about this because so many people will be affected by this information. Brady agrees to meet him around the corner. Chloe doesn’t like this one bit, and after Brady leaves, Chloe makes a call to John to tell him what Brady is doing.
The twins show up at the penthouse after Marlena has called them over. Marlena says she was thinking about them and has made a decision she would like them to know. Cassie jumps to the conclusion that she wants them to call her mom. Marlena thinks Tony encouraged this of them, but Cassie says he didn’t. Cassie says they have always thought of her as a mom, and they have noticed that she (Cassie) looks more like Marlena than Belle does. MArlena says that Belle is her daughter, and she tells them that though she does feel close to them, she doesn’t think it is healthy for them to think of her as a mother. Cassie gets upset and thinks that Marlena has only ever seen them as patients, and that she has only played the role of the doctor to them. Cassie says their own mother didn’t want them, so why should she! Cassie says they don’t need her either and runs out. Rex runs after Cassie and tells her not to do this, but she says she doesn’t stay where she’s not wanted. Cassie leaves, and Rex goes back to talk to Marlena. Rex tells Marlena that Cassie is becoming obsessed with family, but Marlena says who doesn’t want a family. Rex says it is different, he knows he can make it on his own, but Cassie . . Marlena tells him that he’ll never be alone, he has Cassie, he has friends, and he has her. Rex says friendship is funny, the way you feel about different people can end up hurting them. She asks him what is going on in his life, is something wrong? Rex says it is nothing to worry about. Rex thinks about his future and what he wants to be. They talk about psychiatry, and Marlena says it could help him remember his past. Rex says he wants to remember, but he doesn’t want to get caught up in the anger and emotions like Cassie. Marlena has another memory of singing the lullaby, and she tells Rex that she will always be there for him and Cassie. Rex says he just wishes she didn’t look so sad when she looks at them. He asks her why they seem to make her so unhappy? Marlena says they have done nothing. She says that she has had a lot on her mind and hasn’t been sleeping so well. Rex thinks he should leave, and he tells her not to worry about him. John walks in, and says she always does. Rex quickly leaves, and John asks what he wanted? Marlena says she invited the twins over to tell t hem that she couldn’t be a mother to them. John is happy about that, but unhappy about Brady’s recent actions, which he tells her about. John talks to Marlena about how she is feeling right now. John thinks that Marlena secretly wishes she could be a mother to the twins. Later, John gets a call from Chloe about Brady and Tony’s meeting. John takes off, and Marlena continues to think about the twins. She admits that Tony is right, and that she does love the twins.
Tony waits for Brady at the meeting point. Brady eventually shows up, and he sees Tony across the street. As Brady goes to cross the street, Chloe shows up and tells Brady to stop! John is also on his way in his car, and something happens. John hits his breaks, Tony screams no, and Chloe screams as well as lights flash across Brady’s face.
At Tuscany, Belle tries talking to Shawn again. She says most everyone has left, and the two end up kissing, as Belle says Alice told her to give him a kiss. Shawn ends up pushing Belle away, and she doesn’t like it. Belle says they both agreed to let nothing come between them again. Belle says she has decided to do something to help Shawn, she says she wants to be with him in every way. Belle tells Shawn that she wants to make love to him. She thinks if they connect that way then maybe he can tell her what is bothering him. Shawn hates that he is pulling away from her, and he hates that things keep happening that cause him to shut her out. Belle suggests they go back to her dorm room and work through this. She ask Shawn to be with her tonight and tomorrow they will fix the world. Cassie shows up and overhears Belle and Shawn making plans to make love. Shawn wants them to go now, but Belle says they should leave separately because she needs to ready things. They agree to meet in twenty minutes. Belle leaves, and Cassie goes to help Shawn. Cassie tells Shawn that everything is wrong, and they can’t keep putting this off. She says they need to talk about the night Collin was shot. Shawn says this has nothing to do with her. Cassie says she was at the mansion that night looking for him, and she saw him with Dr. Murphy. Shawn asks when? Cassie says right before he died. She says she couldn’t hear what he was saying, but she saw them argue, and she saw him shoot Collin and then run. Shawn asks why she waited this long to say something? Cassie says she wanted to protect him. She begs Shawn to tell her that she imagined it all. Shawn says it wasn’t a dream, it all happened. Shawn tells Cassie that he killed Collin.
Belle returns to the dorms and runs into Rex. Rex realizes what is going on, and he tells her that he is happy for her, and Cassie will eventually get over this crush of hers. Belle gets everything ready for her night with Shawn, and then asks Rex for his opinion. Rex tells her that she did a nice job. Belle, however, is worried because Shawn is late. Rex says he will be here.
At Bo and Hope’s, Hope continues to look outside for Larry. Bo can see that Hope is worried and upset. Hope continues to remember Larry telling her that she killed Collin. Bo tells Hope that he knows what is going on. Hope says these things have to stop, and when Marlena gets back she’s going to go see her. Bo knows Hope saw Larry again. Hope says she did. Hope says she didn’t just see him this time, she heard him. Zack cries, and Hope decides to go check on him. Bo says he’ll take care of it, and Hope thinks Bo doesn’t trust her around Zack. He says that is not true. Bo goes to take care of Zack, and Hope continues to be haunted by Larry’s words. Hope remembers standing over Collin’s body and thinking it was Larry. Hope begins to believe that she actually killed Collin. Bo hears Hope say it is true, and he asks her what is true? Hope tells Bo that she is afraid she killed Collin! Hope remembers standing over Collin’s body alone, so she must have shot him! Bo tells her that they can’t build a case until they have all the facts. Hope says it is slowly coming back to her , but Bo thinks it isn’t possible that she killed Collin because she still had to have found a gun and shot him. Hope says they can’t keep ignoring what he has to do, so they should get it over with. Hope tells Bo to call Abe because she is ready to make a statement. Bo, however, says she is not confessing to anyone!
