At Jack and Jen's, Jack lies on Jen's bed and looks at a picture of Abby. He discovers that Jen saved their wedding album, it's lying on the table. Jen walks into the bedroom in a nightgown, which Jack soon removes. Jack kisses Jen, and the two make love. Afterwards they reminisce about their wedding day. Jen says she recently went into the attic and found their album, which she packed away. Jack tells Jen that he never stopped loving her. Jen says the Jen she was when she married him was crazy about him, but now she is deeply in love with the man that she married. Jack surprises Jen with something he kept, her wedding ring. He says she sent it back to him after their divorce was final, and he kept it. He would like her to wear it again, until he gets her a new ring for their new marriage.
Chloe and Brady return to Green Mountain lodge. Chloe is once again tired, and she also says she feels sad because of what happened at the house. However, she says things have changed between her and Nancy, she now knows Nancy wouldn't have given her up if it weren't for her grandfather. Brady decides to take Chloe's mind of the situation, and they have a night in a hot tub under the stars. In the hot tub, Brady sings to Chloe. Later, Brady carries Chloe to bed. After Chloe falls asleep, Brady says a prayer for Chloe to live.
At the hospital, Bo takes off, leaving Shawn to rest. Shawn wants to go check on his mom, but the nurses say he has to stay here the night. Meanwhile, Kate continues to be there for Roman. Kate asks Roman if he wants to talk? Roman tells Kate that he heard Shawn confessing to killing Collin. Roman says he has to arrest Shawn because it is his job. As they talk, Kate tells Roman that the choice he has to make is a difficult one, and she doesn't know if she could make it if their positions were reversed. When Roman goes to arrest Shawn, he finds that he has already escaped. He soon learns Shawn is over at Bo and Hope's where all hell has broken loose.
At Bo and Hope's, Larry comes to in the basement while Hope remains passed out up above and Belle grows weaker by the minute. Bo arrives home and talks to the cops watching the house. As he talks to them, Larry sneaks through the bushes. Bo goes to go inside, but before he does, he sees Larry head into the sewers. Bo follows Larry into the sewers, and Shawn arrives home to find the door lock has been rigged to stay shut. Shawn smashes open a window and rescues his mom and Belle. Belle says there is carbon monoxide gas in the house. The cops break down the door, and they get Belle and Hope out. Belle and Hope are given oxygen, and Shawn asks Belle what she is doing here? Belle tells him about Larry, and she tells him that she loves him. Hope tells Shawn that she loves him too. Bo holds both Belle and Hope's hands as the paramedics take care of them. Shawn asks Belle how she got here, and why didn't she stay in Paris? Belle tells him that Rex came with her and convinced her to come home and face her problems. Belle says she had to come home to him, even if he kept turning away from him.
Bo chases Larry out of the sewers, and the two fight. Larry pulls a gun on Bo, but Bo gets the upper-hand and beats Larry to a pulp. Larry taunts Bo and tells him that Hope is dead because of the carbon monoxide he let into the house. Bo brings Larry back to his house and asks the other cops to book him. He then goes to Hope, and is relieved she is alive. Roman arrives, and Larry is carted off. Bo apologizes to Belle for her being caught up in this mess. She says she couldn't stay away from Shawn. As she holds Shawn, Roman worries about what he must do. Roman then arrests Shawn for Collin's murder, shocking Belle and Hope, and infuriating Bo.
Brandon wakes Sami up and tells her to get out because Lexie is here. He says Lexie is pregnant with his child, so she belongs in his bed. Lexie shows up and begins laughing at Sami. Sami wakes up from her nightmare, and Brandon asks her what is wrong? Sami claims she had a nightmare, but can’t remember what it was about. They begin discussing moving in together, and Sami is worried that Brandon may not be ready to live with Will. Brandon says he knows Will will always have to come first, and he assures her that things will be fine. Later, Brandon and Sami are woken up by a drunk Nicole’s phone call. She cries into the phone about how happy she is. Brandon asks her where she is, and she tells him she’s at the Cheatin’ Heart. Brandon heads off to rescue his sister, and Sami decides to head back to her place.
Brandon arrives at the Cheatin’ Heart and asks Nicole what is wrong, why is she here and not at home? Nicole says everything is fine. Brandon wants to take her home, but she says she doesn’t want to go home. He wonders why not. Nico shows up to take Nicole home. Brandon wants Nicole to come with him, but Nico insists she come with him. Nicole doesn’t want her brother to get hurt and goes home with Nico. Brandon returns home, and calls Sami to leave her a message and tell her how much he loves her. He also tells Sami that he knows he’s not Will’s father, but he will care for him and promises never to hurt Will the way his father hurt him. Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Victor tells Nicole that she belongs to him forever because he now has irrefutable proof that she killed Collin!
At Abe and Lexie’s house, a phone call wakes Abe to alert him about police business. He learns Shawn has been arrested and has to head to the station. Lexie feels bad for the Bradys. Later, Lexie begins to have pains and fears she is in labor. She tells her baby that it is not time for him or her to come out. She makes a phone call to the doctor, and then heads to the hospital. At the hospital, Lexie runs into Sami. Lexie asks why she is here as this is not her normal work hours. Sami reveals to a shocked Lexie that she is here to make some personal changes to her information as she is moving in with Brandon. Later, Sami runs into Eugenia, who has figured out what Sami did in regards to switching Lexie’s paternity test results. She asks Sami if she is going to tell Lexie who her baby’s real father is?
At the station, Hope insists on staying the station to be with Shawn instead of going to the hospital. Shawn tells his mom to go to the hospital because there is nothing anyone can do for him. Belle shows up and wonders if this is why he was pushing her away. Shawn is taken to booking, and Hope fears Shawn could be protecting her. Bo says she didn’t kill Collin and neither did their son. Belle asks Roman for a favor, and is able to visit with Shawn. Shawn is not happy to see Belle, and he says this is what he’s been trying to avoid. He says he did a horrible thing, and she deserves someone better. Belle knows he was pushing her away because he loves her, and he says of course that is why he was doing it. He tells Belle that he loves her so much, but that won’t change what has happened. Belle says she will never let anything come between them again. Belle is told by a guard that her time is up, and that she has to go. Shawn tells Belle that she has her whole future in front of her, but his is in here. He says this is forever, and tells Belle to go. Shawn is taken back to his cell.
Meanwhile Abe shows up and Bo begs him to stop Roman. Abe says Roman wouldn’t have arrested Shawn without reason. Bo is furious and thinks no one in this department will support him. Bo lays into Roman for what he’s done. Roman says he didn’t coerce a confession out of Shawn, and they gave Shawn plenty of choices to confess. Abe is furious when he learns the Brady boys have been sitting on evidence because the DA could take away their badges. Belle returns and talks to Hope about her conversation with Shawn. Hope claims Shawn is protecting her, and she wants to talk to Shawn and get him to tell the truth. Abe takes Hope to see Shawn, and Bo continues to lay into Roman for jumping to conclusions when they don’t know what the truth is. Roman says if Shawn is innocent then the system will do his job. Bo says that won’t erase his son’s arrest record. He also says this system doesn’t work, and he accuses Roman of choosing his job over his family, something he’ll never forgive him for.
Hope visits with Shawn, and she asks Shawn if he is covering for her? Shawn says he is covering for no one. Shawn insists he killed Collin. Later, Mickey shows up and meets with Bo and Hope. Mickey insists he speak with Shawn and the family together. They all meet to discuss Shawn’s case, and Bo pleads with Shawn to tell them everything about the night Collin was shot. Shawn tells them that he overheard Collin planning to kill Bo, they struggled, and he shot Collin. Bo knows Shawn didn’t kill Collin, and he plans on proving it.
At Green Mountain Lodge, Chloe wakes up and has another nosebleed. Brady wakes up and hears Chloe sniffling. He goes to see what is wrong, and worries when he finds her tending to a nose bleed. He sneaks away and pretends he doesn’t know what is going on. Chloe returns and pretends everything is fine. As Brady orders breakfast, Chloe looks at the paper, and then says they have to go home right now. Brady and Chloe read the story about Shawn’s arrest. They prepare to return to Salem, and Brady tells Chloe that he knows about her nose bleed. Chloe agrees to talk to Craig about it, and she tells Brady that she’s not afraid because of him. Brady thinks Belle is in Paris and doesn’t know about this, so he calls her in Paris, but gets no answer. Brady continues to comfort Chloe, and she says she has so much to live for, especially him. Chloe tells Brady that he is her life. Brady and Chloe arrive home, and Chloe realizes something has happened because her mom’s hospital suitcase is missing. Craig calls Chloe’s cell and tells her that Nancy is in labor.
At the compound, John and MArlena wake up. John is getting ready to go for a run. Marlena wants to talk, but he says when he gets back. John refuses to believe Marlena is Cassie and Rex’s mother because there is no solid proof. Marlena knows she is their mother, and Tony may be their father. John says he has to go for a run and leaves. Marlena goes to Tony’s room to have a talk with him. Marlena and Tony talk about the twins, and how children can create bonds between parents, even if the parents were separated from their children for years. Marlena talks about her situation with Roman and their twins. Tony says their situation is much different from her and Roman. Marlena says if they are the twins’ parents then they will work together to raise them. However, MArlena has doubts that he is their father. Marlena refuses to put strain on her marriage when they don’t know if he is the twins father or not. Tony thinks there may be some way to get information, and he calls Rolfe on his web-phone. Tony shows Rolfe to Marlena, and she recognizes him. Meanwhile, John returns to his room and finds Marlena is not there. He wonders what Tony is up to now. He heads to Tony’s room, where he finds Marlena. He wonders what she is doing here. Marlena identifies Rolfe as the man who delivered the twins. Tony claims he is calling about the twins, and he wants to know if he is their father. Rolfe says he can’t say. Tony asks if he ever took samples from his body? Rolfe asks where he is, and who is with him? Tony says he, John, and Marlena are back at the compound, and Marlena remembers giving birth to the twins and he delivered them. Rolfe says he did take a “sample” from Tony, but they are playing a dangerous game. John is furious, but Tony is now certain he is the twin’s father. Marlena is ready to accept that Tony is the father, and that he was manipulated by Stefano just as they all were. John asks about this doctor, and Tony says he was his father’s right-hand man, and he will get answers from Rolfe about the twins. John still believes the twins are dangerous, but Tony says they are good kids. Marlena says they are her children, and she will love them if they will have anything to do with her. Tony says they will explain everything to the twins, but John says he and Marlena will tell them. Tony says he is their father, so John should back off. John refuses. Marlena asks Tony to give her a minute with John. He leaves, yet spies on John and Marlena as they talk about their future and the twins. John tells Marlena that he won’t let anything separate them, and he will try and love the twins and accept Tony as a part of their life because he loves her. Marlena thanks John for his support. Tony returns and tells them that he hopes they can all work together for the twins’ sake, and he says he wants to be a wonderful father to them. John and Marlena decide to head back to Salem, and Tony says he will return as well. To himself, Tony begins to plan his “life” with Marlena.
At the DiMera mansion, Cassie and Rex escape from the dorms because everyone has been asking them Shawn. Cassie thinks it is all over now, but Rex wonders if she is worried it is over for Shawn, or for her. They end up in a huge argument about Shawn and Belle. Cassie hates hearing him praise Belle. Rex says Belle is honest, unlike Shawn. Rex says they don’t know as much about Shawn as they thought they did, and he says everyone is turning on them. Rex does some legal research on what might happen to Shawn, and Rex and Cassie get to work trying to help Shawn. They also begin to question everyone who is in there lives, including Tony. Rex suggests they search the house and try and find out information about Tony. They end up searching the secret room, and come across Rolfe, AKA Professor Putnam. They wonder what he is doing here. He says he is here at Count DiMera’s request. He claims to be doing research for Count DiMera. He says he can’t say what the research is, and asks them to keep this secret for him. Rolfe leaves, and the twins continue to snoop. Rex tries to break into Tony’s computer, but is unable to.
Roman is shooting pool at the Cheatin’ Heart. Kate shows up, and he asks her why she is here. She is angry that he asked her such a question. Kate wishes Roman would have come to her and let her help him. They talk, and Roman says Shawn’s arraignment is today, but he won’t be going. Kate plays pool with Roman, and later they talk about how Roman had to take care of his family when he was younger after his father fell ill for awhile. Roman says Bo hated that he was the one taking care of him, and he still holds resentments against him for being a more by the rules kind of guy. Kate thinks that in time Bo will forgive him, even if Shawn is convicted. Roman and Kate end up in a kiss, and then Kate convinces Roman to go face his family at the arraignment.
At the Brady Pub, Hope is watching Zack, while Shawn Sr. and Caroline deal with reporters’ phone calls. Hope sees the story in the Spectator about Shawn, and she is upset. Jen shows up to see Hope and to explain things to her, and to apologize. Hope says she is sorry too; she has to do her job. Jen wants to help Hope in any way she can. Jen thinks that Shawn must be protecting someone, and she says Shawn is a good kid and will make it through this. Hope hopes she is right. Hope wants to take her mind off things and asks Jen how she and Jack are doing. Jen tells Hope that she and Jack are back together. Later, Jack shows up and gives Jen a gift. He gives her a picture of their family: him, her and Abby. He promises to devote the rest of his life to making her happy.
At the mansion, Victor continues to torment Nicole about the fact that she is a murder. Henderson brings Victor the morning paper and he learns about Shawn’s confession. Victor wants to go speak with Bo immediately. Henderson says Bo is outside searching for clues as they speak. Victor goes out to speak with Bo. He tells him that he is terribly sorry about what has happened. Bo knows Shawn is innocent, and he feels that two people shot at Collin, and the second person is the one who killed Collin. Bo has to head off to Shawn’s arraignment, and Victor worries for his grandson’s freedom. Victor ends up laying into Nicole and says he won’t let his grandson take the fall for her crime. Victor demands Nicole explain everything that happened when she shot Collin. She says she walked onto the terrace and saw Collin lying there with a gun next to him. She says he got up, she picked up the gun, and shot him when he tried to take the gun from her. She says she didn’t mean to shoot him. She says she only wanted the blackmail to stop, and all she was trying to do was scare him. The gun went off during the struggle between the two over the gun. Victor tells Nicole to go get the gun and bring it to him. She does as he asks, and she even brings him the bullet shells. Victor sees that one of the shells has Bo’s name on it. Victor walks out, and Nicole fears the worst when Henderson says Victor has gone to the police station. At the station, Victor asks to see Larry.
Back at the station, Belle visits Shawn again. He is handcuffed and has to stay that way. She asks him how he is doing? Shawn says his dad stayed with him and is in denial about what he did. Belle doesn’t understand any of this, and she asks him what he was thinking? Belle asks him how he could have kept this from everyone and go through this alone? Shawn says he wasn’t alone, and he reveals that Cassie knew. Shawn says Cassie saw him shoot Collin, and that is how she found out. Belle is furious with Shawn for crying on Cassie’s shoulder this whole time while he pushed her away. Belle takes off, and runs into Cassie and Rex in the hall. She then lays into Cassie for how she could do this to her. Cassie tells Belle not to yell in her face. Cassie says she helped Shawn, but Belle says what she did has made things worse. Belle tells Cassie that she won’t let her get away with this, and Cassie storms off. Belle follows her and continues to lay into Cassie for convincing Shawn to keep this a secret so she could continue this little “romance.” Belle says if Shawn ends up in jail for the rest of his life then it is her fault! Cassie wonders when she gets to see Shawn, and whines that she is the one that helped him and kept this secret. Belle can’t stand to listen to Cassie anymore, and decides to go to the arraignment. Cassie says she wants to go as well, since he needs her the most!
Abe goes to question Shawn, but Mickey wants him to say nothing. Shawn, however, wants to confess to everything and take what is coming to him. Shawn asks Mickey to just leave, so he does. Bo shows up to be with Shawn and question him as well. He makes Shawn talk him through the shooting once again, so Shawn does. Bo, however, says Shawn is innocent. He says the evidence indicates Collin was not shot in the back, but in the gut and at close range. Shawn says that things happened so fast, but he knows he killed Collin. Bo says if he killed Collin to save him then he cannot plead guilty. Shawn says he is guilty. Later, Hope shows up and works with Bo to try and convince Shawn to plead innocent. Bo details his theory about what really happened when he shot at Collin. Bo believes that that Shawn missed Collin, and Collin fell over and pretended to be dead. Bo asks what Shawn did after he shot Collin? Shawn says he dropped the gun and ran. Bo says he thinks someone else came, picked up the gun, shot Collin, and took off with the gun. Shawn still insists on pleading guilty and taking responsibility for his actions.
Everyone arrives for Shawn’s arraignment. Belle and Cassie continue to argue, and Belle overhears Jack tell Jen that the DA is out for Brady blood.
Meanwhile, Brandon talk with Nicole. Nicole thinks Sami is manipulating and controlling him, but he says that she is the one being controlled and manipulated. Nicole whimpers, and Brandon asks Nicole what is wrong now? Nicole says she is as good as dead. Brandon asks Nicole not to talk like that, and he asks what Victor did to her? Nicole claims Victor got mad at her for running off to the bars, and he was right to do so. She says Victor didn’t marry her so that she could go boozing at trashy bars, and she says it is time she grows up. Brandon and Nicole see Sami chase Lucas off, and Nicole tells Brandon to get back to his girlfriend because she has to get home. Nicole leaves, and Sami and Brandon go back inside. She then begs Brandon never to leave her alone with Lucas because she hates him. Brandon can’t worry about Lucas because Nicole is in a bad place right now. Sami suggests they both take a break and focus on one another. Sami begins telling Brandon how good it will be for Will having him here and showing him what a normal family is like. She tells Brandon maybe they should make things official. Brandon asks if she is talking about what he thinks she is talking about? Brandon tells Sami that he loves her and is committed to her, but he wants to take things step-by-step to make sure it lasts. Sami says she understands.
Nicole runs into Lucas in the hallway, and he wonders why she isn’t in a better mood. He offers to help her if he can, so she asks him to lend her some change. He gives her a penny, and says that is all she is worth. Nicole flips the coin to decide whether to stay or run. The coins says she should stay, so she decides to go turn herself in. Lucas doesn’t understand what is going on.
At the station, Victor shows up to visit with Larry. Larry asks Victor what he wants? Victor says he wants Larry to help him solve the murder of Collin Murphy. Larry says everyone knows Shawn killed Collin. Victor tells Larry to shut up and listen to what he has to say. He shows Larry the bullet shell with Bo’s name on it, and he says that he knows what Larry’s plan was. He asks Larry how is plan went so wrong? Larry admits Collin was supposed to kill Bo for him, but he was an incompetent hit man. Victor begins to taunt Larry with the list of charges against him. Larry says he’s beginning to feel a sense of Deja-Vous. Larry asks what Victor wants him to take the fall for this time? Victor tells him to guess, and Larry knows what Victor wants. Victor refuses to put his ass on death row to save Shawn Douglas. Victor tells him to do exactly what he tells him to do or else he will have him off’d in prison. Victor then gives Larry instructions on what to say to the police.
Meanwhile, Lexie shows up with some food for Abe. He is in a foul mood because Shawn is facing a life sentence. Lexie ends up letting her false alarm last night slip, and it worries Abe. She says they were just braxton-hicks contractions, and she was checked out. Abe makes her promise to tell him if this ever happens again. Lexie convinces him to stop worrying about her. Lexie heads home, and Abe talks with an officer about Larry Welch’s visitor. Abe goes down to the cells and asks Victor what he wants with Larry? Victor says he wants to make sure Larry pays for what he did to his son’s wife. Victor walks off, and Larry ends up confessing to Abe.
At the hearing, Roman is ripped a new one by his father for betraying his family. Meanwhile, Cassie continues to moan that she wants to talk to Shawn. Belle tells her to zip it! Meanwhile, Bo and Hope continue to plead with Shawn to take back his confession and plead not guilty. The hearing begins, and Shawn is charged with the murder of Collin Murphy. Shawn is asked how he pleads, and he says nothing. Shawn thinks about killing Collin, and Mickey tries to persuade him to change his mind. Shawn refuses, so Mickey enters a plea of guilty. Belle stands up and says “Shawn no!” Shawn Sr. gives Roman a dirty look. Belle goes into an uproar begging him to plead not guilty. The judge threatens to throw Belle out if she does not stop this. When she continues to scream on, she is thrown out. Shawn is asked if he wants to plead guilty? He looks at his parents, stands up, and changes his plea to not guilty. DA Palmer tries to get no bail for Shawn because he is a danger to the community as well as himself, and he is a flight risk because of favoritism in the police department. Bo stands up and yells that they cannot keep his son in jail! Bo is warned to sit down, and DA Palmer paints Shawn as a drug addict and a danger to himself. The judge finds with the DA and decides to deny bail for Shawn. Shawn is hauled off, and the DA decides that Shawn will get no visitors other than his lawyer. Bo is furious and almost attacks Palmer. Roman tells Bo to calm down, but Bo refuses to take advice from him. Bo says if he had talked to Shawn first before arresting him then he would have realizes Shawn was innocent. The two Brady brother’s get into a huge fight. Roman offers to help clear Shawn, but Bo doesn’t want his help. However, Hope accepts it because the more help they get the better off Shawn is.
Rex goes to be with Belle, and he drags Cassie with him. Outside the courtroom, Rex tells Belle that she helped Shawn, he has pleaded not guilty. Belle is relieved, and Caroline tells Belle that she did good. Belle convinces Caroline and Jen to go back inside, they came out to comfort Belle. Rex tells Belle that what she did was very brave. She says she wasn’t trying to be brave. Belle then tells Cassie that she will probably be called to testify, so she needs to be very careful about what she says. Cassie says she will help Shawn any way she can. Belle runs into Shawn as he is taken away, and she tells Shawn to remember that she loves him. Belle hugs Shawn, and Cassie doesn’t like seeing that. Shawn tells her that it will be okay, and he is dragged off. Bo stops the cops and tells Shawn that he will fine the real killer. Hope hugs Shawn and says she loves him. He tells them all that he loves them too, and he asks his parents to take care of Belle.
