At the dorms, Rex shows up to see Belle, and he brings her a Valentines Day present from Shawn. Of course it's a snowman doll, which makes Belle remember their snowman. Belle says she knows Shawn loved her once. The driver who is taking Belle to the airport shows up, and she decides to leave. She says goodbye to Rex and thanks him for everything.
At Bo and Hope's, Cassie brings Shawn some tea and helps him relax. Cassie tells him that he is safe here. Shawn says he is worried about his mom. Cassie says she is safe with his dad. Mimi shows up, and Cassie doesn't like that Mimi is intruding on her V-day with Shawn. Mimi tells "space girl" that she knows what she is trying to do! Shawn reminds Mimi that he wants her to leave him alone, but she says she can't. Mimi delivers Belle's V-day gift to Shawn. Cassie says if Belle wanted him to have that gift then she would have brought it herself. Shawn says Cassie is right. Mimi tells him that Belle is giving him yet another chance, so he should open it! The gift is a book made up of page from Belle's journal detailing their times together. Shawn reads the journal, and specifically the entry from the night they built the snowman. Mimi tells Cassie that it is time for them both to hit the road. Cassie doesn't want to leave, but Mimi tells her that she is leaving. They leave, and Shawn continues to read the diary. Later, Alice shows up and asks him about the book he's reading. She realizes Shawn still loves Belle, and he urge him to go stop her plane and tell her how he feels. Shawn decides to take her advice. However, he is too late, by time he gets there, plane has boarded and left. Back at the house, Larry plans on releasing dangerous carbon monoxide gas into the house and kill Alice!
At the Green mountain lodge, a person delivers flowers and a heart shaped box to Hope. Bo runs out and yells at her not to open it! She thinks it is from Larry, but he says no it is from him. Bo just wanted to be there when she opened it. He tells her that this box is full of charms that represent their life together. They begin to reminisce about their past together. There is a bike charm, a charm for the carnival kissing booth, and a charm for their music box. They then begin to wonder what would have happened if they hadn't met years ago? They think they would have met somehow because they were destined to be together. We then see a fantasy sequence of Bo and Hope meeting for the first time as adults. Bo and Hope are in a bar, the blue note, and fighting because Hope backed into Bo's bike. The fight isn't serious, it's more playful. Michael Buble begins to sing, and Bo ends up asking Hope to dance. The fantasy sequence ends with them kissing. Bo and Hope then make love, for real. Afterwards they share a dance wrapped up in their bed sheets.
At Green Mountain Lodge, Brady and Chloe cherish their time together before she has her bone marrow transplant. She gives him a CD containing a love song she's written for him. Chloe's interest is piqued as Brady has a surprise of his own for her...
Sami and Brandon go to Tuscany, where they run into Maggie and Mickey celebrating their wedding anniversary. Brandon reminds Sami of their early days together in Italy and she gives him a four-leaf clover she's kept since she was a child and tells him he's the man she's been waiting her whole life for. At Green Mountain Lodge, Bo and Hope dance to Kelly Moneymaker’s “Can’t live without you.” Bo assures Hope that she is safe with him, and that Larry will never hurt any of them again. Later, a waiter comes to the door with dinner, and Hope panics because she sees Larry. She manages to force Larry out of her head, but Bo knows she saw Larry again. Bo and Hope eat dinner, and then make love for dessert! The phone rings, and it is Alice calling about Shawn’s pill popping problem and his bad mood. Bo and Hope decide to cut short their trip and head home.
At Bo and Hope’s, Larry pipes carbon monoxide gas into Bo and Hope’s where Alice happens to be. Shawn comes home, and pops some more pills. Unfortunately for him, Alice catches him! She demands to know what the pills are for, and he lies and says they are pain medicine for his hand. She asks him if he caught up with Belle? He says no, and he doesn’t want to talk about it. Shawn goes into the kitchen to get some water to take his pills. When he comes back out Alice asks him why he is so upset. Shawn just blows up, tells her to leave him alone, and he goes upstairs. Bo and Hope come home, and Shawn if furious that Mrs. Horton blabbed on him. He yells at them to just go back to the lodge and stop treating him like a child. His parents are stunned by his behavior. Bo has had it with Shawn, but Hope takes a more gentile approach. She thinks this has to do with Belle leaving. She is partly right, and Shawn lets them believe that is the whole problem. Bo then tells Shawn that he should not speak to them that way again, and he says yes sir. Bo is beeped to the station and has to leave.
At the station, Roman and Bo learn that Larry’s fingerprints have been found at the motel room, so he is alive. Bo decides to launch a full-scale task force to find Brady.
Back at Bo and Hope’s, Alice and Hope both end up with headaches, not realizing it is due to the fumes. The officer watching the house lets Hope know that some more officers will be coming over to watch the house soon. Shawn wonders why his dad would do such a thing.
Roman and Kate go to Tuscany for dinner. Roman asks Kate about her relationship with Tony, and it annoys her because she says they never have a conversation without the name DiMera coming up. Roman presses her to talk to him about her past, but she refuses. He continues to try and weed it out of her, but she refuses to talk to anyone but Marlena, and she doesn’t know when Marlena is coming back. Roman thinks Marlena and John went back to the DiMera compound, which worries Kate. Kate says Stefano can reach out from the grave and bite them, and that John and Marlena are toying with disaster. Roman suggests they change the subject and talk about the two of them. Of course Roman ends up being beeped by the station, and he has to go. Kate stays at the bar and continues to drink. She talks to the waiter, who says he’s never seen a guy such as Captain Brady more smitten with a woman than he is with her. Kate thinks that if Captain Brady knew the real her then he wouldn’t adore her at all.
At the compound, John and Marlena are shocked to see Tony up and walking around the compound. He says he’s been released from the hospital, and this place does belong to him, but what are they doing here? Marlena says they are here for answers about the twins. Tony says he would like to help them, and since this is his property, they have no choice but to allow him to help them. Tony also says he is a part of the past they are searching for since he is the twins’ father. John says that has not been proved yet, but Tony says he believes it to be true. Marlena and John discuss allowing Tony to help them. John thinks Tony will do nothing but get in their way, but Marlena is willing to give him a chance. Tony decides to prove that he can be of help, and shows them a letter from Stefano that he happened to find. Tony reads the letter, which is about the items left in his will. He states that if Marlena searches into the past, the more she may wish for the pinprick sending her back into a deep sleep. The letter also urges Tony to use the key to unlock the secret that will ensure the legacy of the DiMera family. Tony is angry that the letter leads to no new revelations. Tony vows to find out the truth about the twins, and ends up ripping up his father’s letter. Marlena tells Tony that she believes that he wants them all to get to the truth, and she thinks they should all work together. Tony and John agree to try.
Dr. Miller shows up at Nancy and Craig’s house. Nancy coaxed him into coming for a visit by saying something was wrong with the baby. Craig shows up, and he is unhappy that Nancy has called her father. Nancy demands to know why her father lied to her all those years ago and make her give Chloe up. Nancy knows that her father lied to her about her due date to force her to give up Chloe. Nancy tells her father that he ruined her life and he ruined Chloe’s.
At Green Mountain Lodge, Brady and Chloe enjoy a bubble bath together. Brady washes Chloe’s hair and gives her a scalp massage. Chloe becomes tired, and this worries Brady. Chloe ends up calling home to check on Craig and Nancy. Craig tells her that everything is fine, and he says he’ll call her back later. Chloe worries about her family, so she and Brady decide to go home.
Back at the Wesley’s, Brady and Chloe show up during Nancy and her father’s heated argument. Nancy ends up telling her father that she wants nothing more from him, he didn’t want to know Chloe, so he won’t know his other grandchild. She tells him that he is no longer a part of their family. Chloe’s grandfather asks Chloe for forgiveness, but Nancy refuses to let her father do this. Dr. Miller tells Nancy that he will continue to pray for the health and happiness of her family and that he will continue to hope to be part of her family again one day. Dr. Miller leaves, and Chloe and Nancy bond closer over the revelation. Nancy tells Chloe that everything will be okay now. Chloe and Brady decide to go back to the lodge,
Belle and Rex arrive back at the DiMera mansion, and Cassie asks them what happened? Why are they back? Rex says they just decided to return home. Belle thanks Rex for everything he did for her, and it is obvious that Cassie is annoyed Belle is back. Belle leaves to go see Shawn, and Cassie and Rex exchange heated looks. Cassie doesn’t understand why it is okay for him to run after Belle, but it is not okay for her to spend time with Shawn. Rex and Cassie begin arguing about Cassie and Shawn’s relationship and the secret she is keeping. She ends up blurting the secret out, that Shawn killed Collin. Rex says that can’t be. Cassie tells Rex the story, and Rex says they have to do the right thing and tell the truth.
At the station, Roman tells Bo that the tuxedo stud they found belongs to Shawn. Back at Bo and Hope’s, Alice and Hope continue to grow sicker as the carbon monoxide is pumped into the house. Shawn continues popping pills, and Hope gets a call from Bo. They have proof that Larry is alive now. Bo senses something is wrong with Hope. She says she thinks she is coming down with something. Bo asks to talk to Shawn. Bo asks Shawn to come down to the station because he has some things to ask him. Hope ends up sending Alice home, and Belle shows up. Larry spies and overhears Hope telling Belle that Larry is alive, and they talk about Belle and Shawn’s relationship. Belle realizes Hope is not feeling well, so they go to sit down. Hope tells Belle that she’s sorry about all the problems she and Shawn have been going through. They begin to talk about the problems, and Hope realizes that Shawn broke up with Belle. Hope finds out that Shawn lied to her when he said their breakup was mutual. Hope offers to talk to Shawn for Belle, but Belle says that won’t help. Belle says for some reason Shawn is pushing her away and punishing himself. She says she came back to Salem to try and find the reason why Shawn has been pushing her away and why he feels he doesn’t deserve her. Hope’s headache continues to get worse, so Belle helps her by getting her some aspirin. Hope ends up seeing Larry in the house. Larry locks all the doors and windows, trapping them in the house. Hope tries to attack Larry, but she is too weak. Larry tells Hope that she isn’t crazy, he is alive.
Back at the station, Shawn shows up, but not before taking more pills. Roman and Bo question Shawn about Collin Murphy’s murder. Bo tells Shawn about the tuxedo stud they found, and they ask him how it was ripped out of his shirt? Bo asks his brother for a minute alone with Shawn. Bo begs Shawn to tell him the truth about the night Collin was murdered because he is under suspicion now. Shawn asks for a minute, and pops more pills! As Roman and Bo argue over Shawn’s guilt or innocence, Shawn tells them that he will tell them everything. Cassie and Rex show up, and Cassie tells Shawn not to do it. Shawn tells Cassie that he has to end this now. Shawn ends up blowing up, and finally he passes out!
At the Kiriakis mansion, Nicole continues to think about Victor’s threats. Victor walks in on Nicole and he grabs her by the neck. He tells her that she has been a naught girl, and she didn’t think she would get away with it. Nicole tells Victor that if he has something to say then to spit it out. Victor gives Nicole a belated wedding gift which shocks her. Victor asks her if this document is true or not? When he threatens to turn the file over to the press, she cries that it is all true. Nicole rips up the document, and Victor laughs and says that isn’t the only copy. He also says he has much more dirt on her down in the safe. He tells her that he’ll never get her hands on that evidence, and he will never be free of him. He tells her that she now has to pay for her stupid mistakes for the rest of her life! She asks how he will make her pay? Victor tells her that she will become his serf! He tells her that everything she has, including her body, now belongs to him! HE says from now on, the only answer she will ever give him is yes. Nicole tells him that he wins, and she is no match for him. He makes her say that he is all powerful and all knowing, and that her only purpose is to give him pleasure. He then forces Nicole to sleep with him.
Bo takes Shawn to the hospital, and Craig suspects a drug reaction. Roman is with Bo, and Bo decides to call Hope. However, Larry prevents Hope from answering the phone. Rex and Cassie show up, and Cassie tells Bo and Roman that this is his fault for bullying Shawn. Roman wonders what Cassie knows about the murder, and he wants to know what she and Shawn both know. Rex tells Roman to stop bullying his sister, but Roman says it is his job to find out what Shawn and Cassie’s secret is. Bo asks a nurse how the medicine could have had this reaction, but the nurse says this reaction isn’t from pain medication. Shawn admits he’s been taking his mom’s medication as Roman spies on him. Bo asks Shawn why he would do this? Why would he take his mom’s pills? Shawn ends up saying he killed Collin, and Roman overhears! Bo tells Shawn that it isn’t possible. Craig asks Bo to step outside for a moment while he treats Shawn.
Kate shows up at the hospital and realizes something is bothering Roman. Roman tells her about Shawn’s drug overdose, and that it goes deeper and will end up ripping his family apart. Kate tells Roman that she will be here for him. Roman goes to talk to Bo, but Bo refuses to speak to Roman. Bo goes back in to see Shawn, and he learns that Shawn has been on uppers. Bo realizes that Larry Welch must have switched the medication. Bo begins to worry about Hope because nobody answered the phone when he called her. Shawn begs his dad to go check on mom because she wasn’t feeling well earlier. Bo goes out and tells Roman that they need to have the officers checking on the house to make sure Hope is okay. Roman says the house has been surrounded, so there is no point.
At Bo and Hope’s, Belle spies on Larry as he tortures Hope. Larry tells Hope that he’s been letting carbon monoxide into this house. Hope sees Belle at the top of the steps, and they try and work out a plan to knock out Larry. However, Larry catches on to their plan, and prevents Belle from knocking him out with a vase. Larry wants Belle to board up the windows and doors, but she refuses. Hope ends up passing out, and Larry says if Hope isn’t dead already, he will shoot her unless Belle starts hammering. Belle hammers the doors shut, and then Larry handcuffs Belle to the stairs. He warns her that if she screams, he will come back and shoot her on the spot! Larry begins to cough, and ends up escaping through the sewers to avoid dying himself. However, before Larry can get to the sewers, he passes out in the basement! Back upstairs, Hope comes to and sees Belle handcuffed. Hope tries to get to the door, but Belle says the locks have been glued. Hope decides to break the window, but she is too weak. Belle grabs a vase and breaks it to try and make noise. Hope passes out again, and Belle realizes it is up to her to save them.
