December 2002 - Week 3

Monday

December 16
At Brady’s, Brady calls Chloe, but she refuses to return his calls. He decides to go to her, but Isabella appears and tells him that he is the last person Chloe needs right now. Isabella tells Brady that there is nothing he can do to bring her out of this funk, and if he tries, he will make things worse. She tells him that if he keeps this up, he will push her away like Phillip did. Brady realizes he is acting like Phillip. He calls Chloe again and leaves a message for Chloe asking her how she is doing, and that he will give her some space. He adds that he’d like to know if she is okay, and if she wants to give him a quick call. He tells her that he loves her, and he’ll do anything for her. Brady eventually goes to see Chloe and tells her that he was worried about her. He says he knows he can’t help her with the big stuff, but he thinks he can cheer her up. He has brought her ice cream. She thanks him, but says she doesn’t think she can be with anyone right now. He says okay, and if she changes her mind he’ll be here. She asks what that means. Brady says he’s going to show her that he loves her. Chloe goes back inside, and Brady waits on the porch.

Outside the pub, Jack and Billie arrive at the pub. Billie doesn’t want to go into Bo and Hope’s family place, but Jack says he just wants to go in and see his little girl. He asks for just five minutes, which she gives him. Jack goes inside; and Hope, Bo, and Zack show up and find Billie. Bo and Hope confront her, and she says she is waiting in the cold because she didn’t want to upset them, because she thought they were inside. Roman shows up and tells Billie that she is being charged with conspiracy and accessory to kidnapping, which could mean serious jail time. Roman takes Zack inside, and they others begin to argue. Billie says she did not want to come here, and she did nothing to Hope. Billie tells Bo that if he ever cared about her then how can he let her talk to her like this? He knows she is not a monster. Bo tells her that he does not want her around his family, and that she should just stay out of their lives.

Inside the pub, Jen and Lucas are hanging out while Caroline decorates with Will and Abby. Lucas questions Jen about Jack and Billie. Suddenly, Jack shows up. Jack says he is only here to see Abby. Lucas asks Jack how he talked Billie into going to the tree lighting when he couldn’t. Jack says he just knows how to charm her. Later, Jen insists to Lucas that she is fine with Jack and Billie, and that she has been telling Jack for years it is over. However, Lucas points out that sometimes we think we want something, but when it happens we realize we may be wrong. Meanwhile, Jack watches Will and Abby, who won’t stop fighting. When Jack sees Zack is here, he realizes Billie is in trouble. Jack runs outside, but Billie is gone! Back inside, Lucas talks to Jen about Billie and how strong she is.

Outside, Jack runs into Vern. He tells him to go pick up Abby, she’s inside the pub. Billie calls Jack, and he apologizes for what happened. He still wants to go out, but Billie says she doesn’t want to go out. She says she is home and just wants to go to bed. Billie is not at home though; she is outside the Cheating Heart. Back in the pub, Vern notices how icy things are between Jack and Jen. Jack explains the story to Vern, and Vern tells him that as usual it is all about him! Jack feels bad and tries to call a truce with Jen, but they end up arguing once again. This time Jen can’t believe Jack is making her out to be a bad guy for trusting Collin when he is trusting Billie. Meanwhile, Lucas becomes suspicious of Billie’s actions and decided to run off. Hope talks with Jen, and Jen tries to convince Hope that she needs to accept that Larry is gone and won’t hurt her again. Elsewhere, Roman talks to Bo about Larry. Bo hopes he is dead and his body washes up, but Roman says Larry could have been wearing a vest, so he could be alive. They soon talk about Collin, and what he could be up to.

Billie goes into the Cheating Heart, and she is noticed buy to guys. She makes a face at them, and then orders vodka. Lucas shows up just as Billie is about to drink it, but she stops herself. He approaches Billie, and says he knew she’d come back to her old hangout after the confrontation she had. Billie asks Lucas to take her to a meeting, so he does. Afterwards he tells Billie not to give up until she gets what she wants. Billie says she won’t, and it is apparent that she wants Bo.

At the penthouse, the DNA results are delivered to John, and he continues to refuse he is Tony’s brother. John says if he is, then all of his years in Salem have been nothing but a lie! Marlena says these tests won’t erase the fact that he is a father and a husband. He insists he is Lawrence’s brother, but Marlena points out he also did tests that he indicated he was JT’s father. She says these latest test results came from the ISA, and she believes they are the most accurate. She reads the test results, which indicate that with 80 percent certainty he shares a parent with Tony. John says that leaves him with a 20 percent chance that it isn’t true! Marlena tells him that he can’t deny this, and there is some good news. She says that this doesn’t mean that the parent he and Tony share is Stefano. John, however, says Stefano has never been able to kill him, and that may be because he is his son. John says if that is true, then he has to save his family from the DiMera curse! Marlena tells him that the DNA results don’t change the fact that he is the same loving, caring man he always was, and they won’t change anyone’s opinion of who he is. He says that they change his opinion! Marlena says it doesn’t change hers nor will it change his children’s. She kisses him passionately, and he carries her off to bed. They make love, and later John sneaks out of bed and looks at his phoenix tattoo. Marlena sees him, and she worries about her husband.

December 17
Chloe is getting ready to head to the hospital with some clothes and stuff for Nancy. Craig calls home and Chloe says she is going to be there soon with stuff for Nancy. Chloe heads outside and finds Brady asleep on the porch. She asks him what he is doing here. He says he told her that he wasn’t going anywhere. Chloe realizes he spent the night out on the porch. She feels his face and tells him to come inside and warm up because he’s cold as ice. She goes to get him something hot to drink, but he stops her. He tells her that he knows she is blaming herself for what is happening to Nancy, but the truth is that she brings nothing but good into all of their lives. She doesn’t want to talk about this, so he agrees not to. She brings him some hot chocolate, and he offers to take her to the hospital to see Nancy. She accepts, and thanks him for just listening to her and not pushing her. The two leave for the hospital. Brady returns home, and Isabella tells him that what he did was nice, but he needs to be prepared that Chloe may not be able to accept his love.

At the hospital, Nancy has called Mickey to come and draw up a document to protect the baby. Mickey tells Craig that Nancy has asked him to draw up a contract to protect the baby from abortion. Craig refuses to allow Nancy to sign her life away. Nancy says she has made up her mind, this baby stays with her and she will let no one to take this baby. She says nothing else matters other than her daughter. Craig asks “what about me?” She gets all worked up, and her blood pressure sky rockets. Nancy begs Craig not to take the baby, and she tells Mickey to draw up the papers. Nancy calms down, and Chloe arrives and overhears Mickey and Nancy discussing her living will. Chloe is stunned to learn that Nancy has put her own life on the line for the baby. Upset, Chloe runs off.

Elsewhere, Brandon runs into Sami, who says she was up late decorating the tree and shuttling Will around. Sami has to head to work, and Brandon sees Abe and Lexie show up for their doctor’s appointment. They head to see Dr. Bader, and Sami returns and talks to Brandon. She asks him what is bothering him? Brandon tells him that LExie is pregnant, and Abe should not be the father to any kid, let alone . . . . Sami asks him “Let alone what?” Brandon says Abe has never stood by Lexie, and he won’t start now. Sami says maybe things have changed, and that he should let Lexie have a family with the man she wants. She begs him not to do anything rash.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bader does an ultrasound on Lexie, and the two bond when they see their baby. Later, Abe sees Brandon and tells him that he has something he has to say to him, and like it or not he’s going to listen! They talk on the terrace, and Brandon warns Abe that if he hurts LExie again then he will make him pay for it. Abe tells Brandon one last time to stay the hell away from his wife!

Elsewhere, Sami overhears Lexie ask Dr. Bader to do a paternity test and to not tell anyone. Sami realizes that LExie doesn’t know who her baby’s father is, and she refuses to allow Lexie and her baby to ruin things for her.

Collin asks Brenda if anyone can cover for him while he takes a meeting, but he is told there is no one available. Collin tells himself that Raymond Grant will just have to wait.

Larry, in a horrible wig, mustache and glasses, breaks into Raymond Grant’s office. Larry hides when Raymond shows up. Raymond finds a letter on his desk, and then sees Larry. Larry says he is one of DiMera’s people and he had to deliver this letter to him. He also tells him that Collin also needs to be told to take care of Bo Brady again because he is not dealing with the problem. Grant becomes suspicious of Larry because the Dimeras wouldn’t divulge such information to just anyone, so he decides to call someone. Larry pulls out a gun and tells Raymond to put the phone down. Raymond does as he’s told, and he asks him how he knows about the bullet because it wasn’t part of the original will. Larry says that is because Stefano never ordered Bo’s execution, he did! Larry says he has chosen poor hitmen, the one he hired to kill Victor failed too. Raymond eventually realizes that he is Larry, and he offers to help him escape and stay dead to the world. Larry says no deal, he likes working solo. Raymond realizes Larry has learned a lot from Stefano. Larry says he has, like one should never leave lose ends or witnesses. Larry then kills Raymond Grant! Collin eventually shows up for his meeting with Raymond. Larry hears him coming and hides, and Collin walks in and finds Raymond dead! To make matters worse, Raymond’s secretary is headed for the office as well! Collin hides as well, and the secretary sees Grant is on the floor in a puddle of blood. She calls 911 and tells them she thinks Grant is dead! Collin is able to slip out and returns to work at the hospital. Later, Larry calls Collin and warns him that if he doesn’t do what he tells him then he will wind up like Grant. Collin tells him not to kill Bo until he hears from him again.

At the pub, Kate asks for Roman, but is told he isn’t in but could wait around as he comes in before he heads to the office. Bo, who is also there, watches Kate. Tony comes into the pub, and he and Kate do some chit-chatting. Kate tells Tony that she knows what he is after, and he is out of luck. Kate knows that he and his sister are after the contents of the sealed bequest Stefano left her. She tells him that her dealings with his father are none of his business! Bo sneaks out of the pub and runs into Roman. He tells him that Kate is in there with Tony, but she doesn’t think it was an arranged meeting as she was asking for him when she first arrived. Roman goes inside and says hello to Tony and Kate. Tony says he has been meaning to have breakfast her for awhile, and he says this place reminds him of Ireland. Roman says perhaps they can discuss Ireland sometime. Roman questions Kate about her reasons for being here, and she claims she just wanted breakfast. He says he could get her some kippers to go with those eggs. Suddenly, Roman gets a call about Raymond Grant, and he says he will be right there. Roman tells Tony and Kate the interesting news, and asks Tony if he would know anything about this? Tony gets angry and begins threatening Roman for falsely interrogating him. Roman eventually leaves, and Bo goes with him. Tony sees that Kate is nervous, and thinks Kate is upset that the police might find on her at Raymond’s office. Kate says the meaning of the kippers died with Stefano.

Roman and Bo investigate Grant’s office, and they find that he worked for the Dimera’s deeper than they thought. Bo hopes they will be able to link Collin with the DiMera’s, but doesn’t know why he would betray his own family.

December 18
At the penthouse, John tells Marlena that the ISA has tracked down Lawrence and they are going to a DNA test comparing the two of them and will be faxing them the results. The results come in and indicate that John is linked to Lawrence by blood, but they are not siblings, they are some other relation. The tests done years ago must have misinterpreted the results as them being siblings instead of relatives of some other kind. John says this puts him back to square one. John vents, and he hates dragging Marlena and the kids into this. Marlena tells him not to do this, and tells him that there is a chance that the parent he shares with Tony is not Stefano. John says there is a chance that the parent is Stefano. John says if he is a DiMera then everything will change for all of them. Marlena says nothing has to change, and he is not giving himself or her enough credit. Marlena asks him if he really thinks so little of her? He says he is who he is because of her, and if anyone can save him, it is her. Marlena tells him that he doesn’t need to be saved! She begs him not to let this test make a difference in his life. John calls Shane and authorizes a paternity test for him and Stefano, whose DNA the ISA has.

Collin calls Tony after he is paged by him. Tony demands to see Collin immediately about Raymond Grant’s death. Collin and Tony agree to meet at the Salem Inn, where they will dispose of evidence linking them to Grant. At the Salem Inn, Jen talks her way into Collin’s room. She tells the manager she is a friend and wants to surprise Collin. Jen searches the place, and as she does, she hears Collin coming. Jen hides in the closet, and she listens to Tony and Collin discuss Raymond’s murder. Tony is concerned that Raymond may somehow cause them problems. Collin assures that Tony that Stefano never hired anyone who wasn’t 100% loyal to him, and that includes himself. Jen is shocked to learn Collin works for Stefano. Tony says that they must find out who killed Raymond Grant, and this should be Collin’s first priority. Tony leaves, and Collin unlocks the desk drawer and takes out an envelope. He then gets a call from Larry, who demands a meeting behind an alley right now. Collin takes off, with a gun! Jen realizes Jack was right about Collin all along. Jen leaves the closet, and the hotel manager shows up with some of the stuff Jen ordered. Jen realize Collin will know she was here, so she has to go through with her original plan. She vows to get Collin for what he’s done. She calls Jack and leaves him a message telling him that he was right, something happened, and they need to meet. Jen decorates collin’s room, and leaves a note telling him that she has spread some Christmas cheer into his life and is looking forward to spending time with him in the new year.

Collin meets up with Larry, who is dressed as Santa. Larry reveals himself to Collin. Collin pulls a gun on Larry and tells him that Tony is anxious to see him, dead or alive! Larry warns Collin that he has information on him, and if anything happens to him, this info will be released to Bo Brady! He says this information will ruin him! Collin asks Larry what he wants? Larry tells him that he wants him to do exactly what he says! Larry says he will no longer work for Tony, or the late Raymond Grant, he works only for him!

At the hospital, Dr. Bader gives Lexie a call about her test results. Sami eavesdrops, and is caught by Brandon. He asks her what she is doing? She says she is working as usual. Brandon just hopes she is free tomorrow. Brandon gets distracted by a patient, and Sami listens as Dr. Bader tells Lexie that it will be a few more hours before her results are in. Later, Brandon asks Sami to go away with him. She says she would love to, but she can’t right now. He asks her why not? She makes up an excuse, and then ends up calling the lab doing the DNA tests. She tells them that Dr. Bader is busy, so she wants Lexie’s results delivered to her (Sami), who will give them to Dr. Bader.

Victor finds Nicole at the Brady Pub and asks her why she is waiting here. He asks if she is hoping to see Dr. Murphy? She says no, she came here for coffee while shopping. She asks him why he came here? He says he was looking for her. She asks him if he is following her? He asks if he was, would she have something to hide? Victor assures her that he isn’t following her, and he would like to think that if she had betrayed him then she wouldn’t be foolish enough to go through with the wedding. Nicole suggests they eat, and slips something into her purse.

Sami and Brandon end up going for a walk, and end up at the pub for lunch. They run into Victor and Nicole. Sami goes to the washroom, and Brandon asks Victor to speak with Nicole alone. Brandon once again tries to convince Nicole to call off the wedding. He says she already has five million dollars, what more does she want. They eventually end up calling a cease fire and agree to stop talking about this. Meanwhile, Victor continues to threaten Sami. Sami tells Victor that she can’t wait until Nicole betrays him, which she will. Sami hopes Nicole makes Victor as miserable as she has made her. Later, the lab calls and tells Sami that the results are in. Sami tells Brandon that she has to go to the hospital to find something, and she insists Brandon stay and enjoy his lunch and make up with his sister.

At the mansion, Lexie waits for the test results, and worries that the baby could be Brandon’s. She tries to convince herself that it isn’t Brandon’s because they used protection. Tony returns home to find Lexie looking worried. He asks if she is all right. She says she is fine, and she asks him how he is? He says he is fine and has been looking into loose ends about Raymond Grant. They discuss his murder, and Tony tells her that she has nothing to worry about. Lexie is worried about him, but Tony says he is trying to deal with all father’s enemies. He talks about a board game his father used as his strategy for dealing with enemies, and he says he is using the same game strategy. Tony suggests they talk about something else, and he asks Lexie what she is concerned about? Lexie says she’s just worried about the test results, which she hasn’t gotten back yet. She is worried that the baby could be in jeopardy since she didn’t know she was pregnant and went so long without pre-natal care. He asks how along is she. She says a few months. Tony asks Lexie if she is concerned about her tryst with Brandon? Lexie blasts him for stressing her, but he says she did confide in him about Brandon. He says she has slept with two men, so she should order a paternity test. Lexie says she just wants to put the bad stuff behind her, be happy, and focus on the future. She tells Tony that she found out she is having a boy. Lexie then asks Tony what it was he had to tell her at Dot.Com, before he found out about the baby. Tony tells her that it isn’t important, and he is taking care of it.

December 19
Lexie goes to the Brady pub and tells Brandon that they need to talk. Brandon says they do, about her baby. He says he wants the truth, now! Lexie swears the baby is Abe’s and that she and Abe are getting back together for good. Brandon says not if the baby she is carrying is his! Brandon and Lexie argue back and forth until Brandon is paged by the hospital. He says they aren’t finished with this. Brandon returns, and begins to try and reason with Lexie. He tells her that she and Abe have tried for years to have a kid, but failed. Lexie says conception is a miracle and things like this happen. Brandon says people also make love only once, use protection, and still conceive a child. Lexie tells Brandon that this is about his ego, but Brandon says this is about his responsibility to a child that could be his. Lexie says she will prove that this child is Abe’s, and she tells him to go off and spend a grief filled life with Sami and leave her the hell alone! Brandon storms out of the pub.

Outside the pub, Celeste runs into Caprice, and she wants to know who Caprice is. Caprice tells Frankie that she owes her nothing, and truth be told it is Celeste who owes her! Celeste goes inside and warns LExie to stay away from Brandon because he will continue to cause problems for her and Abraham. Celeste ends up sensing that her happiness with Abraham could be fleeting.

Nicole and Victor discuss the wedding and honeymoon. She isn’t big on the honeymoon, and she says she just wants to know what will happen to Kate and Sami. Victor accuses Nicole of only marrying him so he will take care of her enemies. She says that is not why she is marrying him, and she claims is marrying him because of the way he makes her feel. He makes it clear that he will give her the world, at a price. Nicole knows she has to stay faithful to him, and she tells him that it is easy not to be interested in other men when she is deeply in love with him. Victor gets a call, and as he talks, Nicole checks her messages and sees Collin hasn’t called her. Victor ends up telling Nicole that they now have the day off so they can spend it together in bed. Nicole tells Victor no way! She tells him that before he gets upset, she asks him to hear her out. She wants to wait until their wedding night to make love, and she says it was her mom’s idea. Nicole thinks it will make their wedding night more special, but Victor thinks it is all a load of crap! Nicole says it isn’t, so he agrees to wait till their wedding night. Nicole then gets a call from Collin and she says she will be right over to see him. Victor asks her who she is so anxious to see? Nicole claims it is a clothing designer, and he can’t come because some of the items are for their wedding night! Nicole leaves, and she tells herself that she’s going to get some action! Later, Larry shows up (after the below meeting with Collin) and pulls a gun out. He wonders if he should start Victor’s holiday season off with a bang. Larry remembers how Victor set him up years ago, and he points a gun at Victor as he comes out of the pub. Victor exclaims “What the!”

In the alley, Larry blackmails Collin. He tells him not only will he kill Bo, he won’t be getting the two million dollars he was expecting to do the job! Collin refuses to be blackmailed and tells him to give Bo the files! Larry says he will give the files to the ISA and to Tony DiMera, so is he willing to take that risk? Larry takes off, and Collin wonders what he is going to do.

Collin returns to his room at the inn and finds Jen’s surprise waiting for him. Collin calls Jen and leaves her a message to call him as soon as possible. He then sees he has a message from Nicole, and he realizes how to get everything he wants. He calls Nicole, and she says she will be right there. Nicole arrives and finds Collin in a silk bathrobe. The two quickly get down to business! However, Nicole ends up running out on Collin when during the middle of making love, he calls her Jennifer. She runs out, and Collin checks the cabinet where he was videotaping everything!

Nicole saves Victor’s life by running into him before Larry can shoot him. Nicole and Victor go home, and Larry decides to make Victor suffer the death of his son before killing him.

At the hospital, Sami tries to get the test results, but is caught by nurse Brenda. Brenda says she knows what Sami has done, and she won’t get away with it! Brenda says she knows Sami told Dr. Bader one of her patients was in labor when she wasn’t, and she will pay for it! Sami is relieved that was all Brenda knew about, and she goes to get the results, but the lab tech refuses to give them to Sami. Sami reminds the tech that she is the one who saved her butt when she screwed up a lady’s lab results, and she kept Dr. Wesley from finding out! The tech gives Sami the results, and she leaves and then reads them. It’s bad news, the baby is Brandon’s. She decides that Brandon can never find out about this! Sami heads to the lab to doctor the results, but is caught by Brandon. He promises not to tell anyone what she was up to, as long as she plays by his rules!
