December 2002 - Week 1

Monday

December 2
At the cabin, Chloe tells Brady that she loves him, and she wants to make love to him. Brady tells her that they can’t, and she asks why not. He doesn’t think this is the right time for them. Chloe tells him that she knows they haven’t been together that long, but from the first moment she saw him she knew they were meant to be together. Brady says he felt the same way. Chloe believes fate brought them together and to this beautiful place, and she is sure about what she wants. They kiss some more, and Brady realizes he doesn’t have protection so they will have to wait. Chloe tells him that they don’t have to wait because there is protection in the bathroom cabinet. She tells him that it was meant to be. Brady picks up Chloe and carries her into the bedroom where they make love to the song “My Destiny.” Afterwards, Chloe tells Brady that for the first time in her life, everything is perfect.

At the hospital, Nancy is rushed to the ER where Dr. Bader takes care of her while Craig waits. Dr. Bader stabilizes Nancy and tells Craig that she is okay. Craig tells her that he has news for Nancy that will make her happy, but may upset her because this baby really is the only potential donor for Chloe. Dr. Bader says that he should wait to tell Nancy. Craig goes to see Nancy, and she wants to know what is happening to her and their baby? Craig says nothing will happen to her or her baby. Later, Craig talks with Dr. Bader. Dr. Bader says they will give Nancy some more time for her blood pressure to drop; otherwise they will have to follow protocol. Craig heads to the hospital chapel to pray for Nancy and the baby. Craig is having doubts that everything will work out for them, so he asks God to help them, and to give them all strength. Craig returns to Nancy, and he also talks to Dr. Bader. She tells him that if Nancy’s condition doesn’t change soon, then they may have to terminate the pregnancy. Craig asks if they deliver now will the baby survive? She says no, and if they don’t terminate, they could risk losing the baby and Nancy.

At the mansion, John storms in and accuses Tony of being after his wife. Tony scrambles to hide the phoenix box, and John thinks he is turning his back on him so he wheels him around and decks him! Tony falls to the floor, but eventually gets up. John continues to accuse Tony of wanting to take Marlena away from him. Tony says if Marlena loves John that much then what does it matter what his intentions are? John warns him that if he keeps playing these games someone will be hurt, and he hints that the person who will end up hurt will be him. Tony assures John that he is not after Marlena, he is just thankful to her for saving his life. John doubts that, and he then accuses Tony of bringing the twins to Salem, and using them to get Marlena into his house where he begins faking fuge states and telling Marlena that she is the only one who can help him! He also accuses him of luring Marlena to the island to try and steal her away. Tony tells John that he is projecting as the good Dr. Marlena would say. John warns Tony that if he wants revenge against him to leave Marlena out of it because she doesn’t deserve to suffer. Tony asks if something is wrong with Marlena? John asks him why he is so concerned? Tony says he was Carrie’s step-father, so he was in-laws with MArlena. John and Tony keep arguing, and John thinks Tony is after Marlena for revenge for what happened with Kristen. Tony says he is not out for tit-for-tat! He says he does, however, admire Marlena and wants her assistance. He says their pasts are linked, and he wants to find out about his past. John says Stefano wanted to posses Marlena because he thought her goodness would change him, but his presence corrupts everyone. Tony says Kristen was a good woman, and it wasn’t until she met him that she became corrupt! He says John is part of the family, so it isn’t surprising. John thinks about the letter, becomes angry, and tells Tony that he is not a DiMera! Tony asks John to leave, which he does, and Tony tells the painting of Marlena that John will fight to the death for her, so may the best man win. Tony looks at the box, and then says Marlena is destined to be part of his future. Suddenly, the box opens!

At Bo and Hope’s, Bo and Hope spend time together alone. Bo promises Hope that no one will ever take her away from them again. Bo catches Hope up on what has been happening since she has been gone. Later, Hope gets a chill and feels like Larry is still with them. Bo assures her that Larry is dead and in hell where he belongs. Bo tries to take Hope’s mind off of Larry, and he says it is because of Larry that they are together. He tells her that no matter what Larry did or said they ended up together, and if she believes in that, Larry won’t haunt her anymore.

On Smith Island, Larry makes his way to the Horton Cabin, and we learn Larry had on a bullet proof vest which saved his life. When he looks around he soon realizes that this is the Horton Cabin. Larry looks at a picture of Hope and says they will be together again soon. Larry vows not to be the one who ends up dead, and he makes a phone call. Afterwards he says the phoenix may not rise again, but thanks to Stefano, he will!

December 3
At the dorms, Belle is thrilled that Shawn has decorated her room for the holidays. Shawn shows her a snowman he made, with a little “I love you” sign on it, and he tells her that he loves her. As they kiss, Cassie and Rex show up. They apologize for interrupting, and Cassie says she loves what they did to the room. She sees a present on the table and asks what it is? Shawn says it is an early present for Belle. She opens it and it is a sweater with a snowman on it to remind her of the snowman they built last year. She thanks him and says she loves it. Cassie looks annoyed by Belle and Shawn’s closeness, and the twins eventually leave to go meet Rolfe, AKA Professor Putnam. Belle has no idea how she’s going to get him a gift as special as this. He tells her that he just wants to make things special for her because she makes every day special for him. He then promises her a month of surprises that she will never forget.

In his office, Rolfe plans to return to twins to his complete control. The twins show up for their usual meeting with Rolfe, and he places their bracelets on them in order to continue programming them. He tells them that their mission in life is to protect the DiMeras, and whenever they detect a threat to them then they must take action. Later, after releasing them from the spell of the bracelets, he gives them some information on their DNA from some bloodwork he did since that is why they think they are meeting with him. The twins leave, and Rolfe says the twins are so young, innocent, and potentially lethal.

Kate meets with Grant, the executor of Stefano’s will. She says in turn for her discretion and loyalty about a certain subject, she wants something in return from Stefano. Grant says Stefano is dead. Kate says someone is benefiting from her silence, and all she wants is to have whoever that is to make sure Victor and Nicole’s wedding never happens. Grant basically tells her that she has been paid, to handle Victor herself, and not to contact him again!

At Dot.Com, Jack meets with Billie. She is shocked that he believes she is innocent. Jack says it is because he knows her. Jen shows up and sees them together and is upset. Billie realizes Jack wants to talk to Jen. Jack says he has nothing to say to Jen. Billie sends him for a refill so he will be closer to Jen, and she tries to talk to him. Jack tells him that they don’t have anything to talk about because he cannot trust her anymore. Jack returns to Billie, leaving Jen upset and close to tears.

Outside Dot.Com, Collin runs into Nicole and asks her if she knew about the ruse perpetrated on this town about Hope? Nicole didn’t know, and he tries to use it to persuade her that Victor is the wrong man for her. Victor shows up and meets Nicole, and basically tells Collin to say goodbye. They go into Dot.Com and get a table to discuss Collin. Victor asks Nicole to please stay away from Collin Murphy. Nicole doesn’t like being told who to hang out with, and she tells herself that no one, not even Victor, controls her life.

Collin comes into Dot.Com and runs into Jen. He asks her if she is free for dinner, and she says she would love to go out with him. She says she will catch up with him later to discuss plans further. Collin then goes over to see Nicole, after Victor gets up to try and find when Phillip is working, and Nicole ends up giving Nicole her private cellphone number and that he should keep in touch. He says he will. Victor returns and once again tells Collin to leave. Collin says he only wanted to inquire about Nicole’s health. Victor tells him that he is no longer Nicole’s doctor. Collin eventually leaves, and says to himself that Nicole is playing a dangerous game. Victor and Nicole discuss their wedding quickly, and then plan to return to the office. Kate ends up showing up, running into Nicole, and the two argue. Nicole says she will marry Victor, and hopes they have a nice life. Kate damns the DiMera’s for not helping her, and she says she wishes they were all dead. Cassie and Rex, who have shown up, overhear this and they say “They must protect the DiMeras and take action!” Cassie grabs a letter opener, and they eye Kate.

At Bo and Hope’s, Bo tells Hope that he wishes he could stay home with her today. She tells him that she knows he has to go to work, she is just going to miss him. Bo says he won’t be long, he’s just going to tie up some lose ends. Hope says that she knows he is talking about Larry, but they also need to deal with Billie. Bo says that he doesn’t want to put Billie in jail without an investigation, but Hope says there is no one to back up or refute Billie’s story that Larry tricked her. Hope begs Bo not to let Billie get away with ruining their lives once again. Bo assures her that he won’t let anything bad happen to her again. Bo leaves for work, and later Jen shows up to see Hope. Hope thanks Jen for all that she did for her, but she’s upset to learn this has caused a problem for her and Jack. Jen tells her not to worry about it, they weren’t doing that great anyways, and she does fear that this was the straw that has broken the camels back for good. Jen has to take off, and Hope has her own things to do. Hope asks Jen to think about not giving up on Jack.

Jen goes to the hospital, and she tells Collin that she will be able to go to dinner with him as Abby’s going to a sleepover. Collin is pleased that they will have the house to themselves after their date. Collin is paged by Grant, so he has to call him. Grant reminds Collin about his assignment to kill Bo. Collin says he will handle it when he is ready.

At the station, Roman and Abe discuss the fact that Larry’s body has not been found. They also discuss Billie’s involvement in this kidnapping, and whether she is or isn’t innocent. Roman says Billie has run out of chances, whether or not she’s guilty or innocent. Later, Bo shows up and learns all charges against him have been dropped. He says he did what he did to save Hope. Billie shows up, with Jack, to clean out her desk. Roman thinks she is admitting her guilt, but she says she isn’t. She tells Roman that she came here to become a good cop, and she made a mistake, but she tells them not to condemn her for bad judgment when Larry Welch fooled all of them as well. Bo, however, doesn’t buy it, and refuses to feel sorry for Billie. Bo tells Billie that she helped Larry kidnap his son and wife, whether it was intentional or just her own sheer stupidity. Jack sticks up for Billie and says she was a victim as well. Billie tells Jack that he doesn’t have to stand up for her, but he says someone does. Abe tells Jack that Billie will need more than his support; he says she’s going to need a lawyer. Billie is forced to return her gun and badge, and then she is dismissed. Jack helps Billie pack up her things, and he asks her out to dinner. She thanks him and says that would be nice. Billie asks Jack for some time alone, she needs to think. Jack says okay, and he says that he’ll call her later, and that the truth will set her free. On her way out, Billie is confronted by an angry Hope.

Wednesday

December 4
Chloe and Brady wake up in each other’s arms. Brady tells her that this is better than any dream. Chloe tells Brady that she loves him, and as they fool around, the phone rings. Brady answers it, and it is the car rental placed telling them that the car is ready, which means it is time to go home. They decide to spend the rest of the time they have in the mountains having fun. They go outside, and start shouting they love one another from the mountain tops, literally. They then take turns filming one another walking around, and they soon find themselves in the middle of nowhere. Brady tells Chloe to never forget that he loves her. He picks up a rock as a token of his pledge here today. He says as long as this stone has been around, that is how long his love for her will last. He tells her that he will love her forever. Chloe tells Brady that this is the nicest thing anyone has ever given her, and she gives him a pinecone. She says this pinecone contains a whole forest, and that whenever she is with him things are growing and flourishing. She thanks him for bringing that into her life, and she says she loves him too. Later, they return to the cabin and get ready to return to Salem. Chloe says she will miss this place, and he says he’s sure they be back here for their hon . . . he was going to say honeymoon, but then says their hundredth anniversary of this day. Before leaving, Chloe writes a thank you letter to the people who own this cabin. Chloe is sad to be leaving, but Brady says the best is yet to come. After they leave, the phone rings, it is Craig trying to call them.

At the hospital, Nancy continues to be monitored. She prays to God and asks him to let everything be okay for Chloe’s sake and for all their sakes. Craig, who is sleeping next to her, wakes up. He asks her how she is. She says she is worried, and she can’t help it. Craig checks her blood pressure, and it isn’t lowering. Nancy gets upset, and he tells her to calm down. Dr. Bader checks over Nancy, and Nancy wants them to swear the baby will be okay and they aren’t holding anything back. Nancy can see that Craig is holding something back from her. He thinks about the fact that he is Chloe’s father, and says nothing. Dr. Bader reminds Craig that any excitement, good or bad, could cause Nancy’s blood pressure to shoot higher than it is. Craig asks Nancy to remain calm while Dr. Bader checks her out again. Craig steps out of the room and talks to Collin. Collin offers his help in any way he can. Dr. Bader calls Craig back into the room, and she tells him and Nancy that she is discouraged with Nancy’s blood pressures failure to improve. She says that if this pregnancy continues it becomes risky for her. Nancy doesn’t care what the risks are, but Dr. Bader tells her that if they don’t take the baby now . . . .Nancy refuses to hear this, she says she doesn’t care if she dies, they will not take this baby! She says she would rather die than sacrifice this baby or Chloe’s lives. Nancy says she will carry this baby to term, or until it is safe enough for it to be born. Craig tells her okay, and he suggests she gets some rest. Craig and Dr. Bader leave, and Craig realizes that Chloe has to be told.

Bo shows up at the hospital, and Collin tries to talk to him. Bo says he is working and Collin will have to wait. Collin is miffed that Bo has blown him off. Later Collin gets his chance to talk to Bo. He is hurt he was left out of the whole Hope ordeal. Bo says he doesn’t trust him, and he thinks Collin got a kick out of it when he was in jail. Collin says he only wants to help, and he says he is trying to find Tony another doctor as they speak but it is difficult because he is one of the few doctors with experience with his blood disorder. They soon begin arguing about Collin’s involvement with Jennifer. Collin reminds Bo that he is not the only Brady deemed unworthy to date a Horton woman, and perhaps Jen can make a new man out of him. Bo says that will never happen.

At the station, Hope confronts Billie. Billie insists she had nothing to do with her kidnapping, all she did was try and help. Hope doesn’t believe her and tells her that she will pay for what she did to her! Hope says it is convenient that Larry is out of the way so he can’t refute her story, but she says her history will speak for itself! Billie accuses Hope of coming after her because Larry is dead. Hope says she is coming after her and she will make sure that she never hurts her family again. They go into Abe’s office to argue. Hope tells Billie that she saw her with Larry, but Billie says she had no idea that he was in the room and she thought she was working with agent Ross of the ISA. Hope doesn’t believe her, but Billie says she only tried to help find her and she is no longer after Bo. Hope knows she is and always will be obsessed with Bo. Billie reminds her that Larry shot and almost killed her. Billie says Larry used her, but Hope says her trying to play the victim proves to her that she is lying through her teeth. Hope vows to make sure no one believes her story! Billie knows Hope will never believe her, or what she has to say next, but Billie says she is sorry. She says she never meant to hurt her or her little boy, and she knows what it is like to lose a child. Hope tells her she would use her loss now just like she did then to hang onto Bo. Hope says all she has ever cared about is stealing Bo away from her, and she is still at it. The two get nasty, throwing the box of Billie’s stuff around, when Bo walks in. Hope gets injured, and Bo tells Billie that she has caused enough damage as is. He tells her to get out of here and stay away from him and his wife. Billie leaves, and as she does all the cops stare at her. Meanwhile, Bo checks out Hope’s wrist. She says she is fine, what is bothering her is her hatred for Billie. She tells Bo to keep Billie away from her. Meanwhile, Billie makes a call to someone and asks for a big favor.

At the Horton Cabin, Larry looks at pictures of the Hortons and relaxes. Larry says Bo has not won, and he says he never could see the big picture. Larry looks at a document and says this is his insurance. As he looks at the papers, one of them has the phoenix symbol on it. Larry says with Stefano’s help nothing can stop him. He reads over a letter to Raymond Grant, and then looks at a photo of Collin. He says Collin will be surprised to learn he has been working for him, not Stefano DiMera. Larry makes a call to Collin. Collin asks who this is? Larry tells Collin that he doesn’t know him, but they have mutual friends and enemies, and if they get together they can help one another out.

December 5
Brandon calls Lexie to find out if they are still on for later. She says yes, and she has a few choice words for him and then hangs up! He wonders why Lexie is mad at him, and he tells Sami that he thinks she is the reason why. Sami says whatever Lexie said is a lie. Brandon, however, believes whatever Lexie says and he says he also thinks she erased Lexie’s messages. Sami admits to erasing them, and Brandon thinks it is because she has been hurt so much and is afraid to trust another person. Sami says she is just so afraid that this is too good to be true. Brandon assures Sami that their love will last forever if she can trust in them. Sami says she can, and the two kiss.

At the penthouse, Marlena continues to worry and tells John that “it is beginning all over again” John tries to ease her mind, and then notices the flowers Tony gave her on the floor. He asks her what she was doing with those flowers? Marlena says she doesn’t know! Marlena can’t remember her dream, but John tells her not to worry, she will remember in time. Marlena, however, fears Tony might come after her the same way Stefano did! John assures her that he will not let that happen. Still, Marlena wonders what secrets Stefano has taken to his grave, and what if he is Tony’s brother? John calls Shane and there is no match on the DNA yet, so they just have to wait. John wants to go back to the island, but Marlena tells him that he cannot do that! She says the holidays are coming up and she wants him home with his family. John says he will postpone his trip back to the island for awhile. Later, Marlena falls asleep on the couch and has another dream about being ordered to sleep. She ends up waking up in a trance and says “Stefano!” when she sees his hand reaching towards her in her vision.

At the mansion, Tony looks at Stefano’s journal, and he remembers opening it to find that the journal was from 1960-1980, but it was blank! Tony throws the journal across the room, and Lexie finds it and picks it up. She asks him what this is? He tells her to open it, and she does. She sees it is her father’s journal, and she thinks this could tell them so much. Tony says it could, if the pages weren’t blank! Tony thinks this is another trick of father’s. Lexie tells him that Rolfe could be of help, and he did help her after father left, and he was loyal to father. Celeste ends up calling Lexie and asks her to meet her at Dot.Com, so Lexie takes off. Tony decides to contact Rolfe and ask him for help regarding the journal. Rolfe remembers that Stefano chronicled everything in this journal, but Tony says it is blank! Rolfe is shocked, and Tony thinks he is good for nothing and tells him to get out! Tony knocks some books off a desk, and one falls open to a chapter called “The Gold Bug.” He begins reading it, and then thanks John for the clue he needed to carry on his father’s legacy, and begin one of his own! The last part he says as he looks at the painting of Marlena. Tony goes to burn the journal, but Rolfe stops him. Tony assures Rolfe that he’s not going to destroy the diary! Tony recalls the message he found in the box, and uses fire to reveal writing on the pages!

At Dot.Com, Roman shows up, basically saving Kate from the twins. Kate says she needs to leave, but Roman refuses to allow her to go anywhere. Roman can see Kate is in a bad mood and he asks what is wrong. Kate says she will talk with him, but if he mentions Stefano then she will fly out of her as fast as she can! Roman agrees, and he begins to tell her what a remarkable woman she is. She tells him that she is anything but remarkable, and she thinks this was a bad idea and decides to leave.

Belle and Shawn show up and find the twins in a weird state, which they eventually break out of. Shawn goes to get them some hot chocolate, and Belle tells Rex that he looks like a man on a mission and she thinks she knows what it is. Belle thinks he must be Christmas shopping, and Belle offers to help him out. He says that would be great. Rex takes off, and begins acting suspicious.

Kate leaves Dot.Com and heads out to the alley where Rex was earlier, only to have a scaffolding almost fall on her! Roman pulls her out of the way, and she asks him to please take her home. They head back to Kate’s place and enjoy some scotch. Roman begins trying to smooth talk Kate, but she tells him that she would never sleep with him! He says woman seem to say that before they sleep with the man, and he says he might just be the lasts man she ever needs! Kate and Roman end up in a passionate kiss, and soon make love!

Rex returns to Dot.Com and meets back up with Belle, Shawn, and Cassie. Cassie tells Rex that she has made a Christmas wish, and she will make sure it happens! Cassie stares at Shawn and Belle, who are on the couch. Belle tells Shawn that Cassie has such a crush on him, but Shawn doesn’t think so. They soon change the topic of conversation from Cassie to Rex. Both of them wonder what is really going on with him and his odd behavior. They all make plans to head off to the movies, but are told by the manager of Dot.Com that they have to use the other exit because the scaffolding outside has collapsed. Rex flashes back and we see him tampering with it. Cassie thinks Rex knows what happened because he went out back earlier. Rex says he didn’t see anything odd, and Belle suggests they go to the movies.

Celeste catches Abe looking at a photo of Lexie, and she asks him what he’s going to do about his missing Lexie? Abe says there is nothing he can do, he arrested her for murder and kidnapping. Abe says even though he still loves her, there has been too much damage and hurt. Celeste thinks they can work through this, but Abe doesn’t know where to start. Celeste tells Abe to leave that to her.

Celeste arranges for Abe and LExie to end up at Dot.Com together, and she asks Lexie to hear Abe out. Lexie tells Abe that he has five minutes. Abe tells Lexie that being on the hospital and trying to pretend that he lost her forever made him feel so empty. He also said that when he saw how happy she was that Hope was safe and back with her family, he saw in that woman the woman he married. Abe says he realized how much he missed that woman, and how much he always loved that woman. Abe asks Lexie if she will come back to him. Before she can answer, Mickey shows up to see Abe. He realizes now isn’t a good time to talk, and that obviously Lexie hasn’t told him. Abe asks “hasn’t told me what?” Mickey says Lexie is no longer contesting the divorce and wants to move ahead with it. Lexie says she has somewhere to be and runs off. Abe tells Mickey that he feels like a fool.

Meanwhile, Caprice shows up and sees Celeste. She begins thinking about the paper dolls Celeste received. Celeste demands Caprice tell her who she is and how she knows her? Caprice refuses to talk, walks out, and says if Frankie only knew how much they had in common, including a certain man!

Lexie goes to see Brandon at the hospital and yells at him for using her in order to get back at Abe. He asks her where she got an idea like that? Suddenly, in walks Sami!
